As a lifelong Android user I’ve moved over to the dark side.
Any must have apps etc on iOS?
Any other iPhone hints and tips?
Apps are largely the same for both platforms.
In-built Apple Weather app can't even get current weather right, ditch it for Met Office app.
I use Outlook as we're 365 users so it's brilliant (it's good in as case) this helps me keep work e-mails and personal stuff separate - in fact I put all the Microsoft apps and other works apps in a seperate folder to try to not work when I shouldn't be).
I haven't used an Andriod in a while, but with Apple phones you can put basic / useful / tool type stuff on a menu that you flick up from any page - I've got torch, calculator etc in there. Actually, I don't know if you can tailor it, or it just came that way.I think of all the functions I probably use torch the most ha ha.

MetOffice app was one of the first apps I tried when I got my iPhone 3G. It was rubbish, and I’ve never bothered with the Mey Office since, I use Meteo Group’s WeatherProHD app, and it’s as good as anything else, I particularly like the satellite view with precipitation radar.. Even the Beeb has stopped using Met Office data.
The company the Beeb use get their weather data from the Met Office!
I find the Met Office app works quite well and their forecasts are largely OK.
Apps you'll want depend on your interests. The most useful ones (most used) I have are Trainline, Echofon, Ebay, Google Maps (despite being a fanboy I don't rate Apple Maps), OS Locate, UK Map.

tips
Double tap the clock to go to the top of the page - really useful on safari when reading long pages, works everywhere though
long press or push harder on newer iphones on the new tab button bottom right of safari, allows you to close all browser tabs without going to the crazy swipey page.
If you have apple pay setup and still have the home button, double clicking the home button when the screen is off opens apple pay and will authenticate. keep your finger on the button and it stays awake. I always do this in the queue before i get to the cashier if i am paying for something like a coffee. So much easier than waving your phone at the terminal waiting for the card to appear then authenticating.
hardest thing for me to get used to when swapping from android was no back key, now i find myself swiping everywhere on android phones, and cursing the lack of swipes...
What exactly do do you mean?
Gone all Apple innit. Something I never thought I’d do...
@kellies- the double tap clock tip is particularly useful. Been driving me mad scrolling back up.
And yes, lack of back button is a little odd but somewhat mitigated by the iPhone X’s touch gestures which feel a little more Android. The other thing is just getting used to the different icons for things like settings and App Store.
