Allman Brothers did an excellent version. Think it was on the Brothers and Sisters album.

Lou Rawls without a doubt song would appear to have been written for his voice, album of the same name also on a few colections of his.

Avoid the Sting version, although that may just have been a film.

OK, in the recent music thread, I learned that the Allman Brothers covered it live at the Filmore East. Linky anyone please?

I have two favourites, both live versions. First is Gary Moore with Albert King. Second is Van Morrison from the "A Night in San Francisco" album.
