Just been looking through my ipod and all my music seems a bit, well, boring and nothing seems to inspire me to buy any more
The missus calls me Howard Moon because im so out of touch so i'm looking for some of your recomendations.
do you just want a list? it doesn't work like that.. you need to split up with the wife that has a sense of humour, have some illicit affairs, fall in love with someone that is bad for your general wellbeing and health, fail in your job, have your parents die. then learn from your mistakes and reslize your missus is ace and there is no point going ""there". HTH.
she fancies howard moon btw.
Best response ever!!!!
So something from x-factor then?
default www.sparklehorse.com/ get your head around Mark Linkous.
Always with the Sparklehorse, Kev. 😐
Who's Howard Moon?
wont recommend a band etc but will say listen to 6 music, many shows with many different styles but don letts and guy garvey especially give me new/old stuff worth looking up. wide range of everything and anything old and new, if you dont hear something that moves you in their shows you prob dont like music in general.
Hayseed dixie. Ace.
Van Halen
Oprah. The new album Heritage is excellent
Go classical. On a whim I Spotified all of Mahler's Symphonies. They're out of this world good.

how about some dog step
My musical interest has re ignited by two sources.
Firstly I got a Elbow album thought it was dull but listened again and again then got another album by them and now think they are genius.
Secondly found radio 6 which i just brilliant, Great music all day.
Now need to spend more money on bling hifi!!
music has died.. it's soo last century.. there's been nowt new since 2008
quiet contemplation is the new rock n roll
M83. Glorious 🙂
God richpenny, unbelievable, I was going to say the same thing
Hurry up, we're dreaming!! it's lush just get lost in the vibe. It's so cool.
6 Music +1
Have you heard the first Maps album Emsz? Seems to have similar infuences to M83 just a bit more house oriented.
rich, couple of years ago? I downloaded Lost my soul ages ago, cool stuff.
Try "it will find you" Emsz, fantastic song 🙂
Naked and famous and alice in videoland are worth a listen as well as the cat empire. Look for punching in a dream,we are rebels, and two shoes. Great songs.
White Denim..bit prog, but i'm liking a lot.
Zolof the rock and roll destroyer
That m83 reminded me a bit of mercury rev is it all like that or just that bit?
Loving this
Kill It Kid are really worth checking out. Have to say, though, that 6Music is a terrific resource; just make sure you have a) a pen and paper handy at all times, and b) Shazam on a smartphone. Oh, and a healthy bank balance, because you could easily find yourself spending lots of money. I would also recommend several new albums,
Cars by Kris Delmhorst, which is a reworking of Cars songs by Kris, who's from Massachussetts, and has the most wonderful warm and mellifluous voice. A fantastic songwriter in her own right, too, and a really lovely person.
Don't Stop Singing, by Thea Gilmore. Another singer/songwriter with a stunning voice, this project is Thea singing a collection of previously unknown and unscored songs by Sandy Denny. For those unfamiliar with Sandy, she sadly died after falling down stairs and suffering an undiagnosed brain injury. One of our finest ever singer/songwriters, she was the only non-band member ever to sing on a Led Zeppelin album.
Oh, and The Bangles have a new album out, which is a nice thing for those who enjoy jangly guitar-driven summery pop music, sung by women with no need for bloody auto-tune.
I've been listening to a lot of Manchester Orchestra lately... Nothing revolutionary, just very good at what they do. If you like that sort of thing, you might like this 😉
Went to see Jersey Boys last weekend, rediscovered Franki Valli & the 4 seasons, a bit bizarre surreal I know, but the combination of that show which i enjoyed immensely and that old music, I'm bashing and singing big girls don't cry in falsetto along with my 15 year old daughter like there's no tomorrow.
Not really new but definitely awesome
Good call _Tom_... Ridiculously good band.
you cannot get more excitement than the sayer 😉
Looking forward to the new Tom Waits. Well reviewed in todays Observer.

Ryan Adam's new one is a cracker too.
I can't decide what to post on such a random "recommend me music" request, so I'll let my iPod decide. These are the songs it played me on shuffle in the car this morning, some old some new.
there was a Joker track too, but its not on Youtube..
so
I suppose it depends on what music you like. Here's my two pennies worth:
I'm a fan of listening to this when I'm mtbing:
