You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My wife wants to get me something for Xmas (I’m honestly not that bothered..but that’s just annoying her!)
Dont want anything bike related but as I love listening to music thought I might think of something related to that…but not having much luck as I have everything I ‘need’ and not really an audiophile.
Anyone have any great music related stuff they’d recommend? Max cost c£150
Ticketmaster voucher?
£150 is into entry-level instrument territory. Guitar?
TBH though, if there's nothing you want then go do something rather than buying Stuff for the sake of it. Track day, axe throwing, a posh meal with the missus, a parachute jump, a couple of escape rooms, MTB skillz course, baking lessons, a motorcycle CBT, etc etc and indeed etc. I once did an archery and hovercraft afternoon on a stag do (these were not simultaneous activities, sadly).
Vinyl? You could a lovely selection of albums for that amount, and a nice lot of wrapping and presents under the tree for her.
Well done, you managed to be neither helpful or funny.
?
I was talking about Cougar. I also would've recommended some vinyl but it doesn't sound like the op is into it. How about some artwork inspired by a favourite artist, gig or tour posters? I think it's really important now more than ever to support musicians, especially younger or less popular ones. Streaming isn't paying the bills.
Ah, righty.
I think it’s really important now more than ever to support musicians
Yeah, same thinking here. Bandcamp is a also a good shout.
As I put on the gig thread, small grass roots venues are closing at an alarming rate still. Use it to support some of these and some smaller bands by buying 10 £15 tickets rather than some massive band in a warehouse or stadium.
If you're a music lover then paying that love on is a better gift than anything you don't really want or need.
A set of harmonicas is right on budget!

I just got my buddy (a drummer) a signed skin by his favourite drummer (Jay Weinberg) going to get it mounted in hoop inside a box frame.
Dunno if memorabilia is your thing.
Just tell her you don't need anything
Sounds to me like you actually don't need anything and are just thinking of ideas for her to get you so etching for the sake of it
Just tell her that your happy with everything you have and if she really wants you to open something tell her you wish to open your front door to a neighbour who may be elderly and alone or not able to be with someone
That's got to be more rewarding that some tat
Ormsee me other reply to the other what tat shall I get ,my wife to buy
Wham greatest hits and you can open it early. 😉

That's really cool, especially with him getting dumped by Slipknot this year.

You probably shouldn't assume the excessive amount vinyl is sold for necessarily finds its way to the actual musicians.
Indeed. Buy direct, or from independent shops, preferably with a record label attached.
I don't, but I know from one musician this year who told her fans that her income from streaming was the equivalent of selling 10 CDs. All I'm saying is buy something from the artists you appreciate.
Amen to that. And hallelujah, given the time of year why not.
A nice set of noise cancelling earbuds, music whenever you want.

Bandcamp are good as I think they only take 10%, rest goes to the artists. Musicglue are a similar amount
A kazoo and £149 beer tokens. Jazz improv night, bring it on.

Tbh, I’m not sure how they extract so much detail. But it’s guaranteed to revolutionise 99% of your cd collection.
But you’ll need the right ‘cans’…
I wasn’t overly impressed, listening to dusty Springfield. Korn’s vocalist, Jonathan Davis is simply peerless through this gadget.
right now, I’m pruning some tracks from this with my Sony 720 noise-cancelling headphones. (Great for spoken word stuff).
nowhere near as good as my old (fake?) Marshall major iv’s. I think the Marshalls are tuned like the ‘motorheadphones’ of yore.
if you’re feeling posh, a headphone amp works great with the above:

Thanks all, it’s tough and think I might try and persist with don’t need anything.
I do love my vinyl so might get a couple of albums, although the Mrs thinks I have too much already!
intrigued by headphone amp so might pick up that relatively cheap one

Hm. Surely if you're using BT headphones, the DAC is in the headphones? Lossless mp3?
not really an audiophile.
I do love my vinyl
Called it. 😁
Joking aside... actually, that's a thread in itself, I'll leave you be.
Ha! It's true though, vinyl is lovely for the ritual of listening to an album, but it's not always the sharpest.
Maybe a mix of old and new for presents?
