So Ive got myself a GoPro and have been playing around with the GoPro Studio and want to add some music to my videos
The videos will be uploaded to YouTube so i can share them with mates who are also in them
YouTube wont let me use any of my music collection due to copyright issues (Tried one using ACDC's Thunder struck)
So what music can i use without any copyright issues and where do i get it from?
Go on to your Youtube account, and look for "Audio library". That has quite a lot of music that you are allowed to use.
Try vimeo... it works fine.
Cheers for the replies
Ill check those ones out, looking for more rock type music but also like some electro etc..
Electro for an ebike rides works for me...a subtle link (well, maybe not subtle if it is pointed out!)...
Depends on the music. There's millions of users uploading music that isn't their own every single minute. I've used copyrighted music on my videos, YT tells me "Your video is ineligible for monetisation due to a copyright claim."
If your channel isn't monetised anyway, then IIUC the only other impact is more advertising appearing on your videos although I wouldn't know about that because I'm not one of those weirdos that doesn't use one of those browser addons that must never be spoken about on STW.
When I look at some sections of YT studio, it says my a/c hasn't received any copyright strikes, and in general I get the impression uploading copyrighted content is a bit like a game of Russian Roulette.
Lastly I always put the title and artist of the music used in the video description, also balance the volume of the music with the sound of the video, which in my mind a) lets people enjoy the music, b) gives reason to purchase the original (a variation of the "uploaded in 128kb quality" disclaimer).

It does, but, that doesn't guarantee that if you use one of those songs your video won't get silenced anyway. The protection algorithm is completely useless at identifying things like "this is an approved song but the video creator faded it in" or "this is a video with two approved songs".
