Absolute legend...
Cheers

Best wishes Murray. Hearing his voice instantly transports me back to my childhood watching F1 with my old man. "Damon Hill's going to win the British Grand Prix.... and I'm going to have to stop because I've got a lump in my throat". Never heard emotion like that from a commentator before or since.
Shocking news but thankfully Murray says "They've caught it incredibly early. It's treatable, the doctors say my condition is mild"
Cancer is just awful Get well Soon
My heart sunk when I read the title, I'm bored of f1 now he isn't commentating these days.
Um, he is 89.
A certain amount of 'being realistic' could apply here.
I'm not wishing him ill at all, but there comes a time...
^ possibly but when its his time I would want it to be peacefully in his sleep, not to a horrible nasty painful disease like cancer
Crikey crickey, that's a bit out of order.
Healing vibes to the big man.
He's been a great servant to F1 - Get well soon Murray.
A proper legend. Hope he has a few years left yet.
From people I know who've met him he's a complete and utter gentleman.
Hoping for the best
the man is a legend...he always made formula 1 worth watching....
some of the things he would say were absolutely brilliant!!
best wishes to him...
"Unless I'm very much mistaken -- I AM very much mistaken!"
"Look up there! That's the sky!"
"Jenson Button is in the top ten, in eleventh position."
"And there's the man in the green flag!"
"And he's lost both right front tires."
"And there's no damage to the car. Except to the car itself."
"Do my eyes deceive me, or is Senna's Lotus sounding rough?"
"And Damon Hill is following Damon Hill."
"Michael Schumacher is leading Michael Schumacher."
"Jean Alesi is 4th and 5th."
"Villeneuve is now twelve seconds ahead of Villeneuve."
"Frentzen is taking, er, reducing that gap between himself and Frentzen."
"Nigel Mansell is the last person in the race apart from the five in front of him."
"So Bernie [Ecclestone], in the seventeen years since you bought McLaren, which of your many achievements do you think was the most memorable ?" Bernie Answers, "Well I don't remember buying McLaren." [Bernie Ecclestone used to own the Brabham team].
Murrary: "What's that? There's a BODY on the track!!!" James: "Um, I think that that is a piece of BODY-WORK, from someone's car."
Murray: There's a fiery glow coming from the back of the Ferrari James: No Murray, that's his rear safety light
Interview with Murray here - good luck fella, it's not time yet.
