Ok, I admit it, I looked around Mumsnet after the Fanjo thing...

Wow.

A lot of really sad stories; but an equal amount of really 😯 stuff.

This is an example of the sad posts, but could easily end up being used as evidence in court.

(Oh, sweary content by the way)

Never ceases to amaze me the personal stuff people post on forums, and the advice they readily take and act upon from complete strangers. Do these people not have any 'real' friends to bounce off?

Don't worry bearnecessities ,starting a thread about this will not make people think that you are Hora.
Really ,you have nothing to worry about.
Lurking around Mumsnet is a perfectly normal thing to do. 😆

It always feels good when you manage to guess a mums n et acronym but no-one is guessing that one
(why isn't STW on their list?)

DezzieBee 😆

Seriously though, I used mumsnet around the time mrs deadly and I were struggling to conceive and just had, and I had some questions that I didn't want to be worrying mrs deadly with. To be fair, the respondents were massively helpful. There are more abbreviations on there than you can shake a shitty stick at!

However, and y'know, it happens, I started browsing the "relationship" threads. Jesus, there are some shits about. It was all the secret phone threads that made me go 8O.

We got nuttin on 'em here.

I do find it amusing that swearing isn't allowed over here in case it offends the delicate flowers that mountainbikers apparently are. Clearly mums are made of stronger stuff.

In all honesty i'd get her round the back where no one could see and batter the living s*** out of her. If the home wrecker doesn't have the decency to stay away from you she's got it coming.

I'd crack him with a bottle then take him for every penny.

We got nuttin on 'em here

That!

Stwer, that is inappropriate and not helpful to the op, who has a baby and has discovered her dh is cheating. Its not a soap opera. Its her life.

Come on, who is it??

Who cares? The problem with trolling Mumsnet, is it's akin to sticking your penis into a hive of angry queen bees. And no-one needs that sort of aggro.

Obviously their admins can see all the traffic coming to that thread, via the link on this one, so it won't take a genius to guess where the trolling is coming from.

Life's too short etc etc.*

That is nowhere as bad as some of the threads, some people really do suffer. No worse than stuff talk about in though, just without the trolling.

Mumsnet worries me that there are some really naive people out there. Not the thread linked but others. At first I thought they were trolling.

Sad **** 🙁

+1. Didn't the MNers nearly bring Pistonheads forum to its knees in response to a stupid trolling attempt?

Believe it or not, STW and STWer means nothing to 99.9999999999999999999999999999% of the UK population.

I joined Mumsnet and and another "mums forum" 8 yrs ago when my son was a baby. Although I made a few friends on the smaller forum, I quit both of them because of the shocking amount of bitching, intolerance, and really graphic sexual stuff. I'm no prude and I do swear a bit, but this was an eye opener. The media often use Mumsnet as a supposed representative view of British women but I don't think it's representative, it's horrible.

Graphic sex, I am not in favour of in any way, do you have a link, so I can get really angry and complain to our MP.
Thanks.

If you want to have graphic sex discussions about your sex life you go to pornography sites, you don't shove it in people's faces. I can't see it being allowed on STW anyway so don't infinite that I'm some Mary Whitehouse type!

and really graphic sexual stuff

I read a thread where women were opening discussing how much they loved it in the dirty pocket. That was enough for me to realise that mumsnet is actually far cooler than STW.
