Have always got on v well with Daysoft lenses but I now need multi/vari focal lenses 🙁 (low addition)
Optician has given me a trial pair (Air Optix) which just aren't v comfortable and I'm not sure they're that great for helping with the close up stuff! Not sure if it's because they're monthly lenses and i'm used to dailies?
Checking out Daily disposable multifocal lenses is scarily expensive vs what Im paying now - does anyone have any good value recos for daily lenses, or recos for monthly ones? Optician is not being entirely helpful with alternative choices!
Ta
Don't know about costs etc., but I tried some and didn't like them at all. They were OK in terms of fit but the visual experience was weird.
Agree, I found the focusing a bit odd
Dunno about multifocal contacts, I wear multifocal glasses, and the first ones were fairly narrow, which compromised the amount of space available, so I ponied up for some fancy multi-point varifocals, which are brilliant, but close-up stuff is still fairly compromised, due to the narrow band available at the bottom, so I'd have thought contacts would be even worse. I can read happily without glasses, so I leave my glasses off for close-ish stuff, but for reading with contacts, or for really close work, I use reading glasses. Varifocal glasses can be odd for focussing, so I can imagine what varifocal/multifocal contacts must be like.
Could you not go for monthly lenses?
I've had them for about 10 years and get on well. The fit has been no problem at any stage and I've had several makes. (just what the opticians give me) They did take a couple of weeks to get fully used to but it was worth it.
They make everyday much easier. Prices or smaller print in shops etc. Where they sometimes don't work so well is in poor light conditions. As I understand it, its because you are actually looking though a smaller proportion of the lens.
The one place I find real advantage is riding and reading the Garmin or map.
I'd say have a go and stick with it.
