1 Grated Clove
1 Vanilla Pod
12 whole Nutmegs
1 lemon peel
1 lime peel
2 clementines
250g castor sugar
Cinnamon stick

shouldn't that have been 12 cloves and 1 whole grated nutmeg?

Almost as bad as the stuff I made some on christmas eve - substituted the fresh ginger for an equivalent amount of dried ginger (should have used about a quarter), and due to a complete mis-reading of the recipe put in rum instead of Brandy . We had Alcoholic ginger wine that almost ripped out the back of our throats.

funny how most people don't realise the boiling point of alcohol is lower than that of water so a lot of mulled wine has little or no alcohol content 🙂

Ahh... you make a syrup with sugar and fruit with small amount of wine first... Boiling done.

Once that is done you add the rest of the wine and keep at a very low heat only warming the wine!

only if you heat the wine to above the boiling point of alcohol. Which you'd be stupid to do.
