Anyone know of anything around this neck of the woods?

Spending a day up there Sunday and have some time to pass.

There are plenty of Bridleways in the area and a few cheeky bits of singletrack. I've not ridden locally for a few weeks after wrecking my knee at Glentress but I would imagine a fair few of the bridleways are going to be really muddy.

Hamsterley Forest is only 20 minutes drive away and is more weather proof.

What sort of riding are you looking for and ride length? If you just want local XC riding let me know how far you want to ride and I'll suggest a few trails.

Thanks. Just after some steady XC stuff of an hour or two.

Recovering from a knee injury and just desperate to get out without making it worse by doing too much.

Hamsterley is your best bet.Marked blue to black routes and loads of fire roads up onto the moors.Try Hamsterley Trailblazers website for some route suggestions.

I've made a couple of GPX files of routes I can email you - I've tried to avoid places that will have become muddy quagmires.

There is a fair bit of cheeky singletrack scattered around Aycliffe town itself but it's hard to map.

I've done a 15km route around the town and a longer 28km route. There are a few cheeky bits on both routes and a bit of road to link sections.

There are loads of bridleways over towards Darlington but I suspect some of them could be a real mess at the moment after this weeks rain.
