Heading over  to Lagos in Portugal in just under a month.
Hoping to take advantage of some sunny weather. No idea what it is like for bike riding so seeking any advice or tips on bike hire and poss routes.

Happy doing non technical mtb or gravel or road.

There's some decent gravel riding in that part of the world though the people I deal with don't give out their routes to those just hiring bikes from them. You'll need some info from Strava, Komoot or RidewithGPS for the routing.

Sounds like the same people I’ve ridden with out of Lagos. Lots of very tasty MTB and uplift also… again, routes on the quiet, mainly to stop crossers using the tracks to ride up!

Road riding is good, I used these guys to hire a bike but it was in Alvor, so not sure if Lagos is too far away but they deliver I think:

The website isn't great but in the shop/person they were really friendly and helpful and the bike was decent.

Probably a bit hot this time of year.

Was in the Algarve back in April last year and it was already too hot to seriously consider riding.

Monchique has a few decent MTB trails and road climbs. It was so hot we ended up walking rather than riding.

There's a fun little spot between Faro and Tavira, too.
