I'm on the lookout for MTB events in Europe - enduros, that sort of thing - particularly Italy or France. It seems quite common for there to be organised cycling holidays for roadies based around events but I can't find something similar for the MTB. I like the idea because the MTB events seem to have a bit more going on (bike villages, sometimes family events and the like) so it fits my need for a MTB event while also allowing the fam to tag along so I can dress it up as a holiday for everyone 😀. I can't really find anything on the t'internet though!

There's a very healthy regional enduro scene across the South
Occitanie + Pyrenees https://challengeendurostour.wixsite.com/cetvtt/calendrier
Provence Côte d'Azur https://www.azurcupenduro.com/
Rhône Alpes Auvergne https://enduraura.com/
That's not even mentioning the one off events (there's more than a few independent of sanctioned championships)
However, many events sell out quickly: the enduro de Siagne (mainly EWS and trans Provence specials) and Salagoumania (Occitanie regional champs) both sold out within 24 hours.
There's a huge push to hold kids races (9-14) and this is becoming more common. There's even an independent kids race circuit in Provence as well as the official calendar.
You may get the odd pop-up store along with the food trucks, but not that much else. I guess it depends on what you're used to or expecting. If you want more, there's the Roc d'Azur and the Vélo Vert festival.

This year they are doing an Enduro race at the Natural Games in my home town, Millau. Easy to fly to Rodez.

Solo places still available, 2,000 teams places sold out. It's a bit different to 24s over here!

No need to qualify or anything like that, just enter. Choice of Elite (if you know what you're doing!) Singlespeed (if you are a little madder than the rest) or age group
Google WEMBO World Championships or 24hrs of Finale
