evening...
as title really, where is the cheapest place for ms office atm?
cheers
Probably in China.
Online from Microsoft unless you want to exploit licensing etc. 365 sub is easy
ok thanks
365 Personal is £6 a month, home is a bit more.
Office Home and Student 2013 is £110.
Office prices should theorecically be fixed and reseller margins are around 12% so I'd question the legitimacy of anything much cheaper than that.
There are cheaper versions for students (uni and School age) on 365 and Office 2016 is just around the corner so 365 might be the way to go.
the school package may be the best one then as minivader will start to need it this coming year.
CEX was the cheapest when i was looking, they were quite happy to sell me a student licence version of Mac Office for £60
thats a good shout dirtyrider, have one of them in my town... they currently have 365 premium for £40... is that worth a punt?
I know you've asked about MS Office, but is there any reason not to use LibreOffice instead? It's totally free, and in the 5-or-so years I've been using it I've never had a single compatibility issue between it and MS products.
Software distributor shakes head....
TFO... mostly its because minivader will need it and all the schools run MS. id rather pay the man and get something that'll be instantly usable for him
Buy? Arrr me hearties ;o) tis my bay you be looking for.
jekkyl wont that be wiped out by any updates? (or British Navy)
A lot of companies with MS licensing agreements have staff deals where you can get a legit copy of office pro for around a tenner, worth an ask at work?
Tomnavman speaks of how I got it. Most big companies using ms (so most big companies) do it.
i'm not exactly on friendly terms with my employer at present, and am unlikely to be there much longer, so not worth asking there. may ask mrs vader if she can get something
If you have a few machines and phones in the house then the sub is the way to go as it lets you install on several (I can't remember the number offhand). The home use program is limited to one copy I think

For STW balance, in the four years I was using Open then Libre Office, I had loads of compatibility issues and corrupted files. I've recently bitten the bullet and got an Office 365 subscription for about eight quid a month (small business tariff)

I think all you have to do is enter your work email address and you will be told if you qualify that's what I done

Will have a look on mrsvaders email as posties don't get supplied with them!!
I've bought my last two 365 licences off ebay. Paid around £55 for Home Premium, which allows you to install it on up to 5 devices/PC/Tablet/Phone. So £11/year/device
