Anyone any experience of using a Mac VM with Intune on a mac (M1)?
To get access to some resources for my new contract I can use MS Intune. I've done this before, but I've never really been happy with handing over admin rights for a personal machine (yeah, yeah contractor 1st world problem I know).
Solutions are to
1. Try to just use the web clients - might not be succesful
2. Get another dedicated machine and remeove personal stuff from it
3. Setup a VM on the existing machine and handover admin rights just to that.
Any thoughts / experiences?

Yeah, that.
We have a similar thing at work and the preference is that, if you want access to work resources as a contractor, use a work-owned, work-managed machine.
Thanks for the comments. I've ordered a new machine which will have the grunt to run a VM. I'll try that and if it doesn't work I'll just wipe my current machine and dedicate that.
I have intune on my personal M1 mac which I use for work. Not had any problems, can’t imagine there would be any problems with it in a vm running Mac OS. You can even (just about) run windows for arm to get those few windows only apps (looking at you, Visio).
New M1 mac arrived. I've played around with VMWare Fusion and Parallels. Neither are what I would consider production quality. VM Ware fusion won't allow you to spin up a Mac VM on a Mac and the Mac VM (Monterey) in Parallels is seriously knobbled - can't change config including amount of ram and neither Chrome nor Edge render properly. I'm sure it'll come good eventually 🤣
