My wife's just accepted a job offer in Spain (Madrid) and the company want her to start mid-November. Can anyone recommend a decent firm for UK - EU removals companies? We used the Anyvan website four years ago when we moved from Italy back to the UK but we had much less stuff then (and no kids) so could do with a "full service" company like Pickfords etc. We are based in North Yorkshire if that helps. Absolutely excellent moving us from the UK to Australia - there was some complexity: we had two flats in the UK and were moving at different times, but they were absolutely faultless.
I got lots of quotes (10?) and by the time all the others had added on all their fees, Crown were about average in terms of cost.
Service was great - they guys doing the packing and unpacking were really professional - no dramas at all. Stuff was tracked every step of the way, great communication when it arrived, arranging delivery etc.
I used F&N Worldwide in Grantham when I moved from Cambridge to Sweden. They seemed good. Relatively cheap, reasonably quick. Only one thing got broken and that was a cheap Ikea lamp.
