The wife has decided we need to reorganise the layout of the lounge which involves moving the Sky box. There is not enough cable to allow us just to move it so we need to do some sort of extension. Is it just as simple as take a trip to Maplin and buy some cable and some sort of connectors?

You need an F connector

and another 2 normal F plugs.

Try to nobble a sky engineer if you can, or Ton off here. Don't go paying maplin prices 🙂

EDIT: I may have some myself - I'll have a dig about and let you know. Also, use decent CT100 cable - again, try to nobble a Sky engineer 🙂 Whereabouts are you? I've got most of a drum of CT100.

There you go for connectors, fair price to be honest if you can't abduct a sky man:

Cable is here:

..but let me know how much cable you need and I'll send you it for postage cost (email in profile)

Bear in mind, if you have sky+ you'll need two connectors, four plugs and twice the length of cable...

Shit, that's a good point! (It's been 15 years since I fitted satellite in my feeble defence).

Let me know if it is Sky+ and I'll double the cable 🙂

You will be lucky to get the F to F connectors off a Sky engineer as when I worked there were not part of the stock(joining cables was frowned upon, but still happened on occasion).

F connectors and CT 100 would be no problem I still have a reel or two in the garage but are no where near the OP.

Lerk - Sky+ uses a twin cable so only one run.
