Don't lie to yourself that you have something better to watch. You know how that ends.
In sadness and denial. Arnie has your back.😉
Anytime.😁
For all its 80s bombast, it's actually a pretty good sci-fi action film. It took until Prey for the franchise to make anything nearly as good (although I do have a soft spot for Predators due to Adrian Brody's knowingly scenery chewing performance).
I want to watch Prey, but I’m not sure if it’s on any streaming platforms that are easily accessible in the U.K.
It’s apparently excellent, with a cast of actors who are all First Nations, and the dialogue is also First Nations with sub titles.

Definitely one of the best from that decade. I prefer Aliens overall (the SE cut specifically due to the great tension of seeing the sentinel guns plowing through their ammo) as that is still utterly superb to watch.
Put off watching Prey for a long while as I didn't like the historical setting (no idea why) but it was excellent.
Prey is brilliant. Not derivative.
Nice nod to Predator 2 (I think?) at the end of Prey too. I never googled it but I'm pretty sure the nod is there rather than me IDing it wrong.
I wont say what it is for those that either didn't notice it or not watched it yet. Just a little thing that helps tie a family of movies decades apart together.👍
Hardly going to spoil the movie but still...

You mean
^^Yep.👍
I actually like Predator 2 but it's not aged any where near as well, mostly due to the near future LA setting which is obviously always a tough thing to get right as things invariably scream of the cascade they were made in when they try and look a little futuristic.
Though Scott nailed it with BladeRunner. Hell, part of the reason the BR aesthetic has aged so well is because it pretty much acted as a blueprint for the whole dystopian future SF look that came after. A work of genius. Watching that on modern OLEDs and surround sound, just amazing.
I remember when I first watched it on Stereo VHS and rigged up some headphones and was amazed at the extra sound depth!😁
if it bleeds, we can kill it.
As big as a house!
I have been working with a German guy recently. Not a day goes by when I don't want him to say "What the hell are you?"
Predator is the best monster movie ever made.
Prey is pretty good but in my opinion they ruined it by revealing the Predator and the spaceship in the very first shot. The thing I remember most about Predator as a kid was the suspense of waiting to find out what we're dealing with. It was unbearable. In Prey they just fill the whole screen with it immediately.
I rewatched Predator 2 recently and it holds up really well. I love the feel of a lot of 90's LA based stuff. The place looks like a furnace that's always ready to pop.

Fun fact, early Schwarzenegger movies (The Terminator, maybe others?) had Arnold overdubbed for the German market. Arnie's Austrian twang sounds like a country bumpkin to German ears, it'd have been like leaving Dave Prowse to voice Darth Vader.
Classic. I have a partially cloaked figure that sits in the Christmas tree in homage.
Kind of regret not going to see Prey at the cinema, but pandemic. The big screen and sound must add to the experience, as much as I love Alien and Predator movies, I think the only one I've seen at the cinema is Prometheus.
All the Predator films have been on Freeview in recent months, enjoyed seeing the original again.
Just flicking through Freeview channels, Arnie's commando team have been in the jungle again since 2200 on ch49 (4seven).
Cheers, good brain out nonsense. 😁👍
Edit: I thought you meant Commando was on, hence the brain out bit. 😁
Universal Soldier just started on 5Action, 23.40pm.
Haha, sorry @Poopscoop! 😆
Got me thinking now if I've ever seen Commando...

I say this as a fan but it's not his best!
Total Recall was on a night or 2 back, still love that movie. It's aged pretty well over all.
Balls! Not seen Pred 2 for a while but I'm absolutely cream crackered.
So I just introduced by eldest sons to Predator (they loved it)
Anyway it struck me that the predator learns 2 bits of our language :
'over here & Turn Around' Mac then proceeds to knife the scorpion on Dylan & he says 'Anytime' after Dylan says thanks, predator copies both of these and the bellylaugh just before he blows up
And then it copies Billy's laughter after Hawkins joke
But it doesn't learn Hawkins joke!
And I think it's a real shame the Predator doesn't stalk the jungle saying 'Jeesh You Got A Big Pussy'
At there are "movies" out called, Jurassic Pork and Shaving Ryan's Privates... I would say hold on, your time may yet come. Lol
Over here,
Turn around,
Get to the chopper,
Dirty predator.
