Has anyone got a mous case for their mobile?
They look good quality but want confirmation from users. Looking at either the leather or carbon version.
Also magsafe users, is it worth getting magsafe and what accessories do you use that make it worthwhile?
Haven't got magsafe, but my Mous case has been great- it's by far the longest I've had a phone without cracking the screen! Such a relief to not have that moment of panic and dread when your phone drops. I went for the screen cover as well.
Not got a Mous case but love MagSafe. I’ve a wallet (Amazon one, not the extortionate Apple one!), a car mount/charger and bedside cradle charger. A MagSafe compatible power pack would be a good addition too.
Like @ginkster said - MagSafe is really convenient. I got the Journey bedside stand that charges phone, watch and AirPods (fanboi? moi?). I also have the MagSafe power pack which I can also use to charge my AirPods.
Thanks for the replies
I've got a 20% code off for the mous case and would definitely use a magsafe car mount.
@ginkster
Do you keep the wallet attached to the phone all the time?
Yep, I bought an Evolution one for easy click mounting on the zwift bike and also the motorbike if I get out on it in the summer. Had a disaster last year when I was doing an easy road ride with a mate on a weekend away, couldn't find my Garmin so used my phone on the cheapo bar mount I'd been using for zwift. We detoured down a bit of canal path and the vibration meant the mount flung my phone in the canal, never to be seen again.
I use Magsafe, have a non-Apple wallet attached most of the time (currently a Caseology) with a couple of cards and emergency tenner. I've got a magsafe charger on my bedside table, the powerful magnets make for a nice positive location, you can't get it a bit off or knock it and wake up with a dead phone.
Have carplay in the car, but if you don't then a magsafe mount is great to chuck your phone on and charge it while doing music/nav.
I like Mous a lot, not the cheapest but really nice stuff. Got the airpods case which stops them being a slippery nightmare, and the iPad case is just the right compromise of sturdiness and chunkiness.
The mous case arrived yesterday.
What a disappointment.
There are sharp edges on the back of the case where the carbon infill panel is making it difficult to hold. Can't believe it got past quality control.
Also very slippery doesn't seem to be much grip on the case.
Sending back for a refund.
What a disappointment.
Good to know. I was spared the experience cos they don't make a case for my phone (12 Pro Max or whatever they call it). I got a Quadlock and was quite satisfied with it (works with MagSafe etc).
quadlock mag case here, mag charger in the car which is great and a tripod thingy being delivered today.
Spigen for the win - they are my go-to for phone cases. Never had a bad one...
Thanks I'll be going back to Spigen cases. Wanted magsafe but never mind.
Annoying as I've ordered a magsafe car charger thingy.
Might be boring but I’ve always just used the official Apple MagSafe cases! (With a cheapo eBay glass screen protector on front) There’s usually someone doing a deal on them.
Thanks zilog6128 but it was a case for a pixel 7.
Another update on the mous case I ordered that had sharp edges.
Mous gave me 3 options
1. Keep the case with the sharp edges and they'll refund me 50% of the cost of the case.
2. Exchange for another product and send the faulty one back.
3. Send back for a full refund.
I went for option 2 and have received a new case with no issues. Looks like they know some cases are faulty and are offering 50% off to keep the case.
Their customer service was excellent and sorted the issue within a few days.
I bought a Mous case a while ago as I was after something slimmer than the Otterbox I had previously on my old phone. At first I found it a bit slippy but once I got used to it I have to say I'm pretty impressed. It's more tactile, no longer slippy and probably a nicer thing to hold and use. Plus I've dropped my phone a fair few times onto hard surfaces and it's survived just fine. I did get the magsafe wallet but hardly use it due to Apple Pay.
