I can't say I have but I will add my 2p worth because - I have learned the hard way about inadequate clothing in extreme conditions. I use Mountain Equipment & Sprayway now.

I almost froze on Nevis range in 2005 whilst ridge walking for 5 days. Temperature was down to -35 with wind included & boy did I suffer. I don't now because I have the right gear.

Do yourself a favour & at least asses the conditions that you'll be in & what you expect out of your clothing. I do not follow fashion AT ALL but it is worth paying for the brand when we're talking mountains.

If you need a base layer for cycling - use a wool (Merino).

Good luck.

I have a lot of gear, merino, altura, endura and many more etc so when it comes to knowledge and experience and having the right gear for the right activity, then no probs.

I was just asking about the overall brand, as I have just ripped a second base layer riding my local forest, so this would be the main use, just the local stuff.

It's worth paying for the right kit. Whether or not that comes along with a brand is another issue 🙂

I've got a couple of mountain warehouse tops. They are not quite as advanced as the flashy stuff, but they work ok. By that I mean don't feel as nice, don't quite wick as well, don't hug your figure as well.

I've had a look in a couple of times - to be honest, I'd rather pick stuff up in sales, or go with Aldi's stuff if you're looking for cheap stuff you won't mind getting trashed trail riding.

Aldi's have bike stuff in soon if you have one near you - I've found their clothing is pretty robust, if rather basic in design. We use a lot of it for our kids cycling group, and it stands up to the abuse it gets there pretty well.
