A big birthday later in the year, so contemplating heading back to India.
Anyone have any recommendations for where to go and which tour operators are recommended?
If you've already been to India, just buy a plane ticket and a "Lonely Planet" and off you go. India makes it's own adventures.
Fly into Delhi, head to the motorcycle market and take your pick from the thousands, then choose how you want it customised for your touring needs and spend a day or two seeing the sights of Delhi as it gets serviced/prepared for your trip. I did this back in 2002 for a 6 month trip and I sold it to an Israeli for a small profit the day before I was due to fly home from goa
I don't have any personal experience but watch Bald and Bankrupt/Harold Baldr tour videos on YT. They have separate YT channels for their individual perspectives of the same tour. Trust me they're brilliant and funny in equal measure.
They go all over Johdpur, Jaipur, Udiapur, Mumbai, Punjab, Kashmir, including places western tourists rarely go, some of it on old British motorbikes!
The British guy speaks Hindi and the Norwegian guy loves going to forts and doing drone vidoes. Rajasthan looked amazing!
Saw lots of guys on Enfields in Nepal last year whilst bikepacking. Looked great fun. Company run by an American guy. Not any real help or even the right country but I wanted a go and can’t even ride a motorbike.
