Top race so far. Rossi looking good, just starting to eek out a gap on the Hondas.

Fantastic racing.

What happened when Marquez put his hand up in the middle of the race, was he trying to call a halt due to rain?

There was a yellow flag out on that corner, that's why Marc and Pedro let vr back through

Finally got around to watching this. A proper race that 🙂

The flag to flag rule does seem ridiculous, just encourages riders to stay out and gamble with some huge risks if there's only a few laps left.

Also just had the chance to watch it- race of the year and no mistake 😉

I was thinking that Dani could have won that if he'd not ridden into Marquez on the last lap, he was right on it!
Nice to see Rossi stay at the front for so long but i think Yamaha need to find some more speed. If they do that, they could (both) trouble the Honda's a bit more.
Well ridden Stefan Bradl, he hung on to the back of that group for quite some time.

Amazing race, I was stood on the couch at one point. Shame Lorenzo couldn't get involved more, if both of 'em are having a go they can crack him.

Well that's an interesting grid for tomorrow then. Speedy Gonzalez and his buddy to bugger off into the distance and everyone else trying to survive the carnage in the chasing pack.

This has probably been covered already, but are there any options to watch this live other than BT sport?

After watching the racing on BT I decided to bite the bullet and pay for live coverage direct from MotoGP. The BT coverage made BBC2's effort look good.... I paid £88 and so far I'm happy with the coverage.

I use rtl over satellite pointing to 19.2E. Its a free germanl channel. They also do f1 too which satisfies my motorsport needs.
The only problem is the german commentary but you can use 5 live for f1 ..not sure about motogp.

Soooo- Marquez to win again? Surely he's only a couple of races away from wrapping the title up? Assuming he keeps the 100% race record?

Don't forget that Assen Moto GP races are on Saturday not the Sunday.
I'm hoping for rain to mix it up a bit. It won't mix it up for my lame duck MCN Fantasy Road Race team member, the mighty Karel Abraham 😉

Yeah, that rain really mixed it up, not.
Marquez is a machine. 8 out of 8 is a massive achievement and he seems to bounce back from every slip up. It's not natural, I tell yer 😀

Just what i was thinking- or to be precise can Marquez JR one day whip his big bros beeeehind?

Great ride from Dovi- proving the Ducati isn't completely useless and Mr Crutchlow not too bad either. I suppose 😉

Imagine if Rossi had picked the correct tyre and hadnt needed to start from pit lane, i reckon he might have stopped the Marquez charge 😆

Wonder if Rossi could have just stayed out on that dry tyre!

How's Marquez's bro, I don't watch the other classes, is he likely to be an equal or is Marquez no.1?

If he wins 10/10 I think be should be put on an open bike to give everyone else a chance!

Nein! Nein! Nine in a row for boy wonder!
Far from finding it boring, im actually in awe of this amazing sporting feat.
But I do think they are going to have to chop his legs off or something to stop him winning!
Ever seen so many bikes start a race from pitlane? Mad!

I can see some new rules coming regarding pit lane starts. Something along the lines of single file in original grid order.
Marquez manages another huge crash without hurting himself. He sure bounces well. Almost as well as he rides.
Will he win every race?

Apart from the mad start it was a so so race. Bradley must of decked it at least 5 times over the weekend.

Wanted Kalio to win Moto2 and will someone please give Gino a bike for next year.

Tuned in to my first GP race this weekend for quite some time, sorry about this as i'm sure its been covered plenty, but why do the bikes sound quite so naff now?

They sound like 500/600cc put puts now, is that the case?

I missed the guttural Superbike roar.

Funny you should say that, i've been down the bookies with my £20 😉

why do the bikes sound quite so naff now?

At least they don't sound as pants as this years crop of (12" rubber dildo adorned) F1 cars 😆

Like F1 i suspect it's to do with the regulations requiring engines to last ages, instead of the old hand grenades that could be replaced every race weekend. They have to operate to a rev limit which is lower than before (?)

But that's just it, the bikes sounded almost as uninspiring to me as the current crop of F1 lawn mowers.

I honestly thought i'd tuned into a feeder series at first, but kept hearing the commentators say 'Rossi'..

That's another thing, what's the deal with Rossi?
I know he was on an iffy framed bike for a couple of years, but is he actually the riding god we all thought years ago or is he being outpaced by better younger riders now (or better bikes) ?

Has his age caught up with him?
Genuinely interested to know.

Twilight years of his career really. I don't think it's going to tarnish his legacy much.

Rossi's pretty much said he's not willing to ride a bike to the sorts of limits that Marquez does (or Stoner did.) So partly age and injuries and that mental edge.

He's second in the championship behind some freak of nature.

I dont see how people can say he has lost it, a lot of people are saying he is rejuvenated.

Rossi has the beating of everyone this year bar Marquez, Pedrossa is a wya back, Lorenzo seems to be a bit broken in the head. His racecraft makes up for anything he might of lost in out right speed.

Marquez is something else entirely I just hope that all his bad luck doesnt arrive in one big lump.

Rossi on a honda against Marquez would be a fair fight, however Marquez would edge it IMO, maybe

Bottom line, Marquez is just brilliant and on the best bike supplied by the best (race) manufacturer with probably the best team running it.

And Rossi is second to him - not bad for an old man.

fair comments re Rossi.

I know little of Marquez and haven't witnessed his winning streak.

From all the accolades it would appear he is the genuine real deal.

Marquez would take it every time - unless he fell - he's prepared to do whatever it takes. Rossi is past doing that.

Rossi's racecraft is the thing keeping him up there - look at Sunday. He knew that the track was dry enough for slicks and that he and everyone else would be in to change. So he shot off on the sighting lap to get into the pits first and so first to the pit lane exit. Did Lorenzo or Pedrosa think of that? Of course not.

Sly old dog 😀

There is no doubt it is helping but having seen most of the races this year I can't see how anyone one can say he's lost his edge or desire.

I think too much is put down to his age and he is racing as well as ever and in fairness to him (and all the others trailing in his wake) Marquez appears to be something truly special !

Don't get me wrong, I'm far from thinking that he's past it or lost what made him the racer we all think of. He's far better than all the rest bar Marquez. I just think that he's having to call on all those years of experience (let's face it, he'll have seen every possible race situation) to stay where he is now, rather than pure talent.

And worryingly he has a little brother who is looking pretty damn quick too!

Lorenzo seems to be a bit broken in the head.

It is a shame to see. Seems to be a bit lost. Rides so much on his confidence that when it's gone he's gone. Hopefully we'll see him back soon.

Would be brilliant to watch. Remember Spies saying that when following riders who were quicker than him he could see why they were quicker, in that they were basically doing what he was doing but better. But that Stoner and Marquez were exceptions to that and he just couldn't figure out how they were doing what they were doing! Whatever you think of Stoner, MotoGP is worse off without him.

Basically Marquez can take the absolute p*** on a bike AND get away with it. Moreso than just about any other rider. Rossi is also old school in the fact that he learnt the trade on a two stroke- Marquez i believe is the first 'god' of the total 4 stroke era.

He is gonna be the new GOAT.

I think he's going to end up more of a Doohan than a Rossi though. A rider who whilst widely appreciated as a rider, never really captured the public in the same way Rossi, Schwantz, Ago, Hailwood all did. I'm not saying I want to see Rossi type antics from him, but he just isn't really showing a lot of interesting traits. Unless of course you consider his riding skill interesting, which it is of course... but.. not necessarily to everyone who doesn't see all the nuances.

He seems to have some personality compared to others.

Rossi said he didn't think the yams are that much slower and Marquez is the main difference. Fair play.

Racers don't bother about minor things like putting it in the scenery 🙂

Seriously though, there must be a rider out there in Moto2 or one of the Superbike championships that can extract the maximum out of it, they just have to find him.
Testing a whole bunch of them over a few days may work

Looks like Cal took the money and ran. Very sensible if you ask me.
The Ducati needs a special kind of rider and even Rossi isn't special enough.
I think Iannone may be the right man for the job as he used to have "Crazy Joe" on his gear.
Now he has.....

Maybe he should be forced to ride the Ducati (i'll bet Bologna would pay the earth to have him) just to give everyone else a chance. Well a slim chance 😆

Looks like it maybe all over for Colin Edwards, I know he is quitting at the end of the season but reports say he is giving up his ride. Maybe be back fo season end in Valencia.

Shame it is petering out because he is a class rider.

So the perfect 10, Doohan did it but who else? And what is the record for straight wins? Wasn't it Agostini?

It is a shame for Colin Edwards, class rider.
