I have had a Moto G4 for nearly 3 years now and its been faultless, even the battery is still holding a good charge.
I am thinking of getting another Moto G phone. Does anyone have a G6 or G7? Any good?
I had a moto 4 and liked it and would not have changed but I dropped it a few months back & the speaker stopped working, I got a moto 7 & it's been great. the battery life is the biggest difference i noticed
I have a G6
It's been a good phone but it's showing its age now.
Would I buy a new one now...no. I'd buy a g7 I think.
I'm still waiting for this G5 to die.
G7 as work phone here, with a few others around the office.
The
They just *work* without due, fast enough and good enough battery, with ok camera.
The only hassle I've had was mine had YouTube app stop working.

Same here.
I had an older one (G3 I think) which was ace and lasted around 3 years before the battery got a bit too dead.
Replaced it with a newer G6 and tbh, I don't think it's as good a phone. Just seems buggier and laggier than the old one was (when it was new).
To me it feels much more of a budget phone than the old one did.
Bought a G7 after recommendations from here. Very happy, Pixel 2 died and it's been an easy replacement. Haven't wanted for anything.
Kenneth. When did you do that.
I was an update about ,6months ago that killed the g6 for me and left me with alot of bugs.
I've got a G7 Plus - can't really see how paying 3 times as much would get you anything any better.
My G3 is still going strong, 4 yrs old in Feb. My work iPhone 6S+ is same age and looks like its about to draw its pension.
I'd been looking at this a while back ..particularly in relation to the G7 power. I'd heard many people had trouble with the call quality and when I asked on here some confirmed my suspicion . Strange though..doesn't seem a problem for everyone.
The other issues... (if it's the power version) are disappointing camera, lower Res screen and limited to 2.4ghz WiFi iirc + no NFC if that's wanted.
I have the Moto G4 too and it's been very good .
Remember ..if you get a G7 power ...J Lewis have it at £159 with 2 yr warranty.
Had G4 for years, great phone. Now on an E5plus for the battery life. Had it about a year and is everything I need.
Wife had G5s until charging port broke, now she has G7power and that's what I'd get if I needed to. Better spec and features than my e5 but same huge battery. Not expensive either
Seadog the younger has a G6, great piece of kit. I’m hoping to justify a new phone and will have no hesitation in getting a G7. Unfortunately, my still very good G5 works perfectly.
G7 power here. Very pleased with it. The HTC it replaced was old, so understandably slowing down, but the G7 is faster, slicker, has more storage and a better camera. Its usp of course is battery life and it doesn't disappoint. 2.5 to 3 days on a charge with reasonable usage. It,s not a "flagship" £1000 pound phone with all the bells and whistles, but you get 90% of the functionality for less than 20% of the price.
Moto E4 plus from June 2017 (£160), I killed it in the rain a few weeks ago. Very sad as a great phone.
went down to argos straight away and bought a G7 Power. Same size, but Slicker, faster, better spec, same £160. Another great phone with a monster battery (I thrash mine as a "work computer" when I go to London for the day. Havent run our of power yet).
Sticking to Moto for the foreseeable.
I had a couple of Moto G phones. Got a Samsung A40 now. Mainly because Motorola don't like to update their phones. Also They put glass backs on the new ones which is dumb. The A40 is also compact whereas most phones just keep growing toward tablet size. Another make I would consider over Motorola at the moment is Nokia.
Loved the G6, that was definitely 'how TF is this only £150?'. Found the G7 more solid, I guess because good phones at this price point are now well established - in fact I lost mine this week out of my jersey pocket and replaced it with an honor. Just to try something different, and the NFC would hang a bit on my G7.
Fortunatley my G7 was found by a good Samaritan, who took it to Wilmslow, refused to answer calls, and powered it down so it can't be tracked. The absolute state of humans sometimes.
@kenneththecurtain - exactly the same thoughts here. Upgraded from a 3yr old G3 to a G6 at the start of this year.
I got the 64gb version but it seems to have a bug where it works OK up to being 50% full, but as soon as you go over that 32gb then it becomes really slow and laggy. Really annoys me that half of the available storage is effectively useless.
I'll run it until it dies but then I think I'll be going away from Motorola phones. They aren't as good as they used to be (had a Moto G1 as well) and, reading aroumd the internet seems to agree with me.
In comparison my wife has a slightly cheaper Huawaie(?) phone (P-Lite maybe?) and it just seems so quick at reacting to interaction in comparison.
G6 here (maybe 18 months old) and it is buggy. I still maintain the Samsung S6 I had years ago is a far far better phone apart from the Samsung bloatware.
On the G6 the call quality seems fine my end but other end I often get comments about it being unclear. This happened on EE and now Vodafone and over multiple locations. Other bugs-
The screen rotates in it's own, even when rotate is turned off.
Screen can flicker when on adaptive brightness is on in rooms with fairly low light.
Volume control is poor at low end, it goes down low enough for very quiet listening, and the first few 'clicks' of volume are linear with a sudden jumps in volume.
Camera is ok, better than the G6 Power but nothing like the quality an S6 or iPhone produces.
That all said battery still lasts all day even with it being plugged in a couple of time during the day. Most calls I make are on a headset or through the car, where it appears to work fine.
Would I get another Moto? Maybe but I would be monitoring it very closely over first few weeks and if played up would be returning it.

Probably one of the worst 'features' of mine. There is no 'low volume' - it just goes straight from mute to 'already too loud' on the first click of volume. It didn't do this from day one, but I recall getting an 'update' pretty soon after getting it which added this issue.
