Always fancied a leather recliner.
Quite a few years ago now I got an L shaped one from DFS.
It’s proved fantastic as I also got the firmer cushions out of the choice of softer or harder. When new they really were firm but have worn very very well! It’s made it last so long and still has many years left in it. I can sit on the armrests without fear of snapping anything and honestly, get in that corner with the legs out and there’s no better way to relax after a busy day with little un. I’m 6’1 and there’s probably another 2FT left before my legs would hit the armrest!
Mine. A '70s g plan thing with failing upholstery. Not so much relaxing, more get stuck. No excuses for not getting to the end of the film.
One that wipes clean without any fear of nasty discoloration.
we’ve a massive faux suede corner recliner with a chaise lounge at one end. You can lose hours on it. Best bit is it was £4500 list price, but I picked it up from a surplus stock place for £650.

I've got am Italian Leather one in a gorgeous Burgundy colour that lives at my parent's house that my nan gave me (won't fit through the door into my flat!) that's unbelievably comfortable and far too easy to fall asleep in. It's only a 2 seater but cost well over £2k new 20 years ago, made by a local guy shortly before he retired so not replaceable! Just gets better looking and comfier the older it gets.
We've just got some old Ikea jobbie my mate was going to skip that we re-dyed. Long enough to lie on and comfy with a couple cushions for my head and one to hug. Even fell asleep twice last night watching the telly snoring away much to my wife's amusement.
When we go on holiday my wife's important criteria is always a big enough sofa for me and a bath for her.
So, just find one that will fit in your house and is big enough to lie down on, not a fan of leather though, too slidy, cold or sticky.
There are millions of sofas out there and millions people with different preferences how on earth do you expect to get a useful recommendation? 🙂
Leather recliner. Once you've had a recliner you won't be able to get comfortable on anything else.
I used to have a recliner chair I got from a friend when they emigrated. A strange golden coloured velour 🤣 it was very comfy, but not a sofa and massive.
Himolla cinema recliner, you may take root in it though. (It's a bit spendy though).
For Netflix and chill?
Serious answer. Go and sit on some.
That bargain one 2nd hand, as there worth virtually zero second hand, but the obvious issue is transporting them. Had two, with minimal use, over the years, you could see one partner fuming, while the other half gave their pride and joy away, as it didn't fit with the new décor 😀
Last sofa was new leather recliner and it's nice, but it's only really soft/comfortable where we've sat at the outer seats, the middle is rock hard still. This does beg the question are shops must break them in, for show room use?
Our current one we bought secondhand, the guys wife wanted a change of decor. It’s immaculate only a couple of years old. <br />2 journeys in my last E-Tron sorted the moving out. Even for a footstool chucked in as I pretended we weren’t interested in it.
More of an armchair person. Have a huge leather one that is extremely comfortable. Should’ve been a couple of grand but picked up a second (slight scuffs on arms) for £600.
