If I take Mrs Monkey to Morzine for a couple of weeks, with a group of friends, with a view to riding half the time and doing grown up holiday things half the time (she's not a biker) will she hate me by the end of the first day where I'm off biking?

It is very bikey (specifically very downhilly).....

Having said that it is a nice place, but I predict she will find herself spending her days with lots of 'broken' mtbers with arms / legs in plaster etc etc 😉

Hi mate. We did a family holiday this year and stayed in Samoens. Loads to do in the area if she likes walking. There are some nice gentle walks along the river out of Morzine, the shopping isn't too bad. If she has access to a car it would give her more choice. If going with a group of non bikers may I suggest the Lac Blu at Morillion. Nice play area for kids and one of these go Ape type adventure areas, again, you can walk along the river.

Cheers for that 🙂 I know Morzine quite well from a bikey point of view, but the only time I've spent not biking there has mostly been spent recovering for more biking 😉

Walking is definitely on the cards, hopefully some swimming too when I'm off on the bike. There will be at least a couple of non bikers, probably with access to a car.
