We should be using all March hare revisions but it's friday so it's first reply sets the rules day.

I refer you to the Mango Chutney Ruling of 1769. As I am sure you all know, this means that diagonals are banned, but you can block on the transverse.

Tottenham Court Road.

Tooting.

Bec, of course. Not Broadway, that would be illegal.

I suspect the mango chutney ruling has scared off the amateurs. Funny really, especially as they're probably the most straight forward of all the 18th century rulings.
Is Hammersmith available in open play?

Normally I'd only play if Dollis Hill was wild but I think the Chutney Ruling means I can go for Edgeware Road.

Hammersmith not available in Spring rules, until flash is back after his stint in the buffers.

There's a problem with the Mango Chutney ruling. Read the footnote to the 1973 edition, and you'll see that a moritorium on its use was imposed as a reult of a diplomartic gaffe made by Ted Heath when playing an international game at an OPEC summit.

On that basis, diagnoals are allowed: Gloucester Road.

I'm back from the buffers, so I'll take it across to Wimbeldon.

Not bad but lacking in tactical nous to use the trapezoidal. Victoria.

Can I? I think so, but just need to check that the edges aren't overlapping before I drop it in there.

I'm invoking the RT Rule of 1987, utilising the fresh air option, split diagonals and Mother Brown's finest.

Leaving Camden Town as it's grim in teh north so I'll Fight the French and take Liz to Mudchute.

And done.

Where to go from there then? Oh hang on, it's a simple, clean, crisp (and really rather obvious)

Kings Cross.

Victoria.

Which is a blind if I'm not mistaken. Moves south to this are now going to be Bunted.

Careful now...

this is all getting far too circular and spiteful, it smacks of 'hooper’s mainline variation' and is better suited to Lent.

Can I propose the 'liberal coalition rules'
Defined by David Lloyd-George at the May Fair Synod of 1922. Better known as his New May Fair Rules. These pre-date, and must not be confused with his Further May Fair Rules of later that year. If in doubt, remember the handy aide-mémoire often recited by seasoned players: Lloyd-George New May Fair - The Further New Lloyd-George. Remember, Prince of Wales Drive can only be approached from the South, and 3 Shepherds in a row earns a bonus point.

I'm playing blind here as I don't have access to my copy of the rules,
so this move is a bit blind. But I am going to play 'Swiss cottage'

Pook, Mango Chutney, as discussed.

Bec has gone, so with Broadway down I can only really do one thing. Annoying as it leaves me wide open to a bluff from the North. But......

Pimlico.
