I'd got a bit bored of the reruns every Christmas, but this year my 8 year old has got into them, and watching him fall about laughing at the Breakfast sketch, Cleopatra etc etc has made me remember being 30 years younger and how funny they were and still are.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall at his first music lesson after Christmas - "I'm playing all the right notes....."

A nice nugget was the 1977 Xmax show had 29 million people watching it. Over half the population of the UK sat down and watched. I know there was no video and only 3 channels, but that's more edifying than an hours Eastenders misery.

That bit when Elton sang still kills me. "If my Mother was here she'd be in tears now." "Is that her favourite song?" " No, she can't stand you"
Brilliant, good clean fun.

Ah, you must be so proud!

Teach him 'Get out of that' and get him onstage.

The little paper bags that Burger King chicken nuggets come in are just the right size for an 8 year old wannabe Eric Morecombe!

Quite a few parents were chuckling at him as he discovered his new found talent in Newport Pagnell services!
