You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Finally after much deliberation and request on STW for some advice, I have upgraded my hi-fi.
I bought a s/h Rega Apollo to replace my Linn Mimik.
The Rega is definitely more detailed, which I really like but it doesn't blow the Linn away.
I know the original price of the Linn would of been a lot higher than the Rega, considering the age of the Linn it shows how impressive their kit is.
The Linn will now be going on ebay to offset the cost of the Rega, unless I keep it for a second system and make my current second system a third "bedroom" system.
This is exactly how I ended up with 5 bikes!
I've got a 'spare' Marantz CD63 SE sitting in a drawer. TBH the active CD67 SE does not in any way get much use as it is. 😐
Trouble is, it's just not worth selling, as I'd get peanuts for a lovely bit of kit.
Sigh...
Fred - looks like £100 achievable on fleabay
I might get Rich Penny to 'upgrade' it, then it'll be worth a good bit more... 🙂
I also have a Marantz CD 63 SE that has not had a hard life. But, as Elf says they are worth peanuts.
I thought it was only the CD63 SE KI signature ones that went for 100 notes. I thought you would be lucky to get £40-50 for the standard SE and that might be pushing it?
That's my problem, I have kit that I think is worth more than what I can get on ebay, even though I will hardly use them!
Standard ones go for about £40-60. Just not really worth the hassle, if I'm having to send it. I'd flog it for that to someone picking it up, possibly.
A couple of years ago I replaced my Linn Mimik 2 with a Rega Saturn. Now that DOES blow the Linn away, and the Linn wasn't exactly horrible!
Just bought a Roksan 5 channel power amp off ebay!
If it doesn't work with the Linn or the Arcam as a pre amp it will be more expensive!
