Our 4.5 yr old daughter bit an older boy on the arm yesterday at school. I don't know in what context, apparently they were just playing in the playground and she bit him. She's never bitten anyone before, not even her extremely irritating (to her) little brother! They dished out a punishment at school and she said sorry to the boy. Interested to hear if any parents have been in a similar situation and how you dealt with it at home? She's a very gentle, shy and studious little girl (that we know of!) and it seems completely out of character
I wouldn't worry about it - until she does it again.
Don't make a big deal out of it would be what I'd have done - ignore the bad /reward the good.
It happens.....both my girls tried it once and got bollockings etc......the dogs were always playing mouthing games however 😆
Have scouts from Liverpool FC been in touch yet?
We were lucky in that the biting phase for us was younger so we were able to deal with it directly and with the age appropriate holding still for a count of twenty and explanation as to why it was wrong. A one off bite in play / fight is not a phase and probably just merits a quick stern explanation given school have already punished.
All behaviour is communication.
Now you've just got to work out what it was she was communicating.
did the boy scream his safe word? if not, all is fine
Thanks for the replies peeps
