Righty...just 40-something, AC/DC, Motorhead, Maiden, Accept, Loudness, Slayer, etc were listened to and some concerts attended to as a teenager...then found 70's disco, dance easy listening...wide range of music purchased over the years...

Sad to say have never seen Metallica live....however, enjoyed most albums inc. from Kill Em All through S&M (particularly this....), St Anger and Death Magnetic.

Reckon it is something I should do pretty soon...

Good show?

Oh - Also reckon Donna Summer, Spacer by Sheila B Devotion, Summer Night City by Abba, Chic have created excellent music too....

Sac shaving per other thread - why not, like my wife to be tidy down there so why not 😉

Hi
I saw Metallica live at Milton Keynes Bowl some years ago. Was around the time of the black (untitled??) album. Guess it would have been late eighties /early nineties. Thought they were fantastic.
Dont listen to them so much now though
*wanders off to turn ipod on*
Also on were Bryan Adams. ZZ Top and Megadeath!!!!
Cheers
Steve

Yep - worth seeing. Also saw them some 18 years ago on the black tour and then early last year on the death magnetic tour - they were truly leagues ahead of when I saw them first (and I thought they were good then) a really good performance, well worth going to see them.

Seen them 10 times over the years. They're ace. Whilst their songwriting has faltered since the Black album, live they have huge energy, loud and agressive. Make a big effort to put on a show for their fans, focus is purly on the music, not fancy stage sets etc.
Also highly recommend Motorhead for an ace live experience 🙂

With earplugs. Admittedly I haven't seen em since the late 80's but they really were *too* loud every time.

Last Metallica album's the best for a long time. Saw 'em at the O2 last tour - in the round - had a standing ticket, so was about 15 ft from the stage. Good show, tho' the sound quality left a lot to be desired

Saw them at 1st English gig at the old Marquee with Cliff Burton when Kill em All was released. They were superb.

I've seen them twice, at MK bowl and Reading. They are one of the tightest bands you will see live. Book your tickets!

seen them twice, when James Hetfield was still an alchy, the Justice tour then the Black tour. Really worthwhile live and a good purchase for any sensible metal fan

Saw them at Wembley and the O2 in London, both great shows. If the sound wasn't great I didn't notice.
BTW Thanks once again, Bruce!

The first time I saw them, at Milton Keynes, I wasn't really that excited to see them... I'd seen Pitchshifter, Sepultura and Symposium, I was sunburned to **** and dead on my feet, so I thought I'd just watch from up the back. And Metallica are past it anyway man. Well, THAT didn't last long  They were fantastic, polished sure and a bit cliched and predictable but still utterly brilliant. I've not passed up a chance to see them since, though I did leave early at Sonisphere because I'd sooner watch Hundred Reasons than another Metallica encore

I think this is a good time to see them, they seem to be a bit more inventive and open to experiment than they've been for years, frinstance Hetfield was taking the solo for Nothing Else Matters then cutting the song short by about a minute afterwards, Hammett was trying (and failing!) to play different stuff in his solos, I don't think you'd see him hit a bum note 5 years ago because he was playing so safe, now he's pushing it again.

Go see.
