Damn dishwasher won't clean. We've tried cleaning everything inside, filters, arms, everything.  unblocked pipes feeding the dishwasher, all of it.

We have done some experiments and it seems that water is coming in through the arms, but either they are not spinning or there is no sort of pressure to the water. we put in a cup in the top shelf with some jam smeared inside, same on the bottom shelf, spoon in the cutlery rack.  All came out hot, 'steamed' put not clean at all.

The weekend is coming, any help appreciated!

Are you in a hardwater area, could it be scaled up?

Try filling two dishwasher proof bowls with 250ml white vinegar, put one in the middle of the top rack and the other in the middle of the bottom rack.  Nothing else in the dishwasher.  Run on hottest and longest programme.

Put a go pro in it, see what's happening 🙂

Could be a bad pump - just not generating enough pressure to spin the arms.

howsyourdad1 - it's worth a try, vinegar is great at shifting dirt if there is any there and it's non-toxic too.  On the other hand is your washing machine working OK?  Have you checked with your water company to see if there's anything going on with pressure?

Take the arms, all the trays and the filter assembly out. then do what cinnamon girl says. While that's running, take a vaccum to the centre of the spinny arms to remove any peas, broken glass and limescale bits. Get a small screwdriver and clear out the arm holes. If this doesn't fix it, then its likely to be the pump itself..

Cheers, have removed the arms  , filters, all of that. Currently have it on full hot cycle with vinegar in. Thing is we can here the water kind of dribbling out of the arms, not swooshing around powerfully removing dish dirt with ease. Pump/ pressure we think. How does one fix that huh?

Used picture hanging wire to poke away in the holes of the arms and nothing significant came out

It’ll be a bit of debris in the pump impeller, I’d put money on it

Sometimes you can reach the impeller through the bottom of the filter housing. On many there’s a hatch next to the filter that you can unscrew to get to the pump. My current and last Siemens are like this. I think the Electrolux was, before I dumped it in the street for our builder to collect.

Very disappointed, was expecting one of those "we put the cat/dog/hamster/grandma/etc into the dishwasher for a quick bath but now it's not breathing" threads.
