Well. I very nearly didn't click Play on The Chain because I thought it was going to be terrible cover. I'm glad I did, that was outstanding. Thanks for sharing.
That Chain cover reminded me of this
I fell in love with the fiddle player a bit, at least until that slightly mis pitched bit near the end. Rest of it was good though.
I’ve got an audition for a classic punk band tonight so I’m boning up and realising I really don’t know my punk history.
Who knew the pistols had some actually good songs.
trailer trash Barbie
Stay classy there fella.
The Highwomen album is excellent too. We have it on vinyl, complete with 'tattoo' etching on side 4.

Er yeah, all of NMTB

Might have to revisit it in my old age. My teenage self didn’t understand what the fuss was about. Don’t like their most famous songs anyway, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised at Silly Thing, a solid tune.
If you expressed a preference for post-Rotten Pistols I'd kick you out of the audition 😆
Always love a bit of Clutch, and if you're a fan of theirs you probably won't overly object to this:

As a drummer I’m hoping (and assuming) they’re a bit desperate 😂
Saw these guys supporting the Manics in Dundee
There's a bit of a Joy Division homage going with the lead male singers look and the VOX guitar.
Quite apt given the amount of ****ing cretins out there
From the album I'm listening to at the moment, and one of my favourite songs:
It's not really following in the punk or country vibes from many of the other songs though.
Stay classy there fella.
Sorry, but the rest of the band are so stylin it different that she stands out like a sore (and highly talented) thumb. Doesn't help she is the centre point of the thumbnail on a portrait format youTube image. It's Howard Stern and a pretty big deal for a band so I assume the band's stylist made a choice to dress her like that.
Sorry for any offense caused.
trailer trash Barbie in the middle
Bit of a typo there, I think you meant multi award winning artist, Maren Morris, in the middle.
I think her list of achievements, including a Grammy and five Country Music Association wins justify a little more credit than just a crass comment about how she is dressed.
Any thoughts on the guitarist shoes or are we just reserving judgement for the 'chicks'?
Is that Amanda Shires from the 400 unit on fiddle? Edit - Yep, she’s a fantastic player and singer. Her husband is one of the best lyricists/songwriters of his generation too. Loved the concerts they did from their barn during lockdown.
Clutch are ace. Hands down my favourite rock band. Not overly keen on the Fortunate Son cover, but I think that says more about how phenomenal their own stuff is.
I’m loving Parquet Courts new album. Enjoying how they change from album to album

I thought the bass player's shoes were a bit OTT. But that is just a difference of style, he wouldn't wear my flipflops.
Centre front line lady though struck me as a bit of a strange choice. Howard Stern is a pretty big show to go on. People in the position of bands trying to get on have usually been considered in their choice of dress. I thought her outfit didn't work within the confines of the band in that one off video clip. Fair enough. They are there for the glorious performance I chose to like and link.
All the Spice Girls had different themed outfits.
She was the only one that stood out. National TV is not a casual event for a commercial artist. It would have been a decision and I wonder what it was.
I don't recall criticising their abilities in any way just the bizarre wardrobe choice. If you have any problems with that then sorry, but **** off.

You should see MY shoes.
And was that the only thing you took from my post where I tried to give a balanced response?
You lot think you have problems...
I have been listening to The Mission continuously for week... its been a grim week.
From a brilliant album. Still not sure though whether it's totally retro or super modern.
And a massive return to form from the Manics with The Ultra Vivid Lament. Lyrics straight off The Holy Bible, music direct from the Benny and Bjorn playbook.
And back on one of my sporadic heavy rotations of The Story Of The Clash right now.

Almost exclusively if they're female, is the point. Great musicians absolutely killing what must be a tremendously hard song to cover and the immediate take-away was what one of the ladies was wearing?
"I went to see Metallica last night, they were OK but did you see Kirk Hammett's shoes?" said no-one in the history of ever. C'mon. This is lazy, we're better than this.
Currently listening to some Animal Collective that I only bought because I felt bad walking out of a record shop without buying anything. It's OK.
