I agree. Actually, I have always found them to be pretty patient in the face of obvious provocation.

I wouldn't regard my earlier thread as provocation, though. It was merely making a point I believe to be a valid one, and the mods seem to have taken notice and are trying to do something constructive.

We don't need a love-in, mind. We ride mountain bikes. We are not shallow.

How many are there? I can only think of Mark and Chipps, and the two semi-pros, Drac and Cougar. Is that it?

Scottie, don't confuse irritation over intrusive ads with criticism of mods. Slowness to react, perhaps.

But the power of protest has (it seems as lloyds has gone on holiday since lunchtime) sparked a reaction other than closing down threads and threatening bans. Good for that.

I'll show my appreciation too. I used to moderate a forum for a club night and it's not easy. When do you let something pass, when do you have a 'quiet word', when do you take may formal action.

This is the best form by far for allowing healthy discussion and debate on pretty much any issue with the mods letting things for unless its getting really silly.

So hats off to you all...

It's good to provide feedback or thank people for doing their job. I've been on a course all week and thanked everyone of the instructors we had and others who turned up.
