I am looking for your advice as I am starting to really lose my temper with my mobile phone provider. I have been without service for 3 ½ weeks and am getting really annoyed with being passed from pillar to post. Today for example I have spoken to 5 yes 5 different departments and still no resolve to the problem. The problem first began when I had an intermittent problem with what was deduced as a sim problem after speaking to their oh so helpful customer services and taking the phone back to the shop and one of the shop assistants being in the know about the model phone I had. Anyway I had a new sim card sent to me and all was fine until the problems started again I was not able to make phone calls or text messages or receive any calls or messages. The first person I spoke to said “you must have the phone with you” me “I do have the phone with me it will switch on but will NOT make phone calls or text messages” Her “ Phone this number from your phone for me please” WTF???????? Then she passed me to this department that department I think the only person I did not speak to was security. This has been going on now since the 13th of Feb I have even emailed their customer services and they are saying we apologise and understand and we can help you. As I have said today I have spoken to 5 different departments and they are insisting I take the phone back to one of their shops. Their nearest shop is 20 miles away in a town centre that is not traffic friendly. Even though I have told them I am disgusted with the service I have received and I wanted the account dropped down to the lowest rate as I was not paying £35 a month for a service I was not getting to be told I can not down grade the account until one month before the minimum term is up? Is this true can I fight this or can I insist that the contract be terminated due to non conformance on their part? I am still waiting for a phone call back from one of their customer service people after assuring me that they would phone me back in 5 minutes that was 3 hours ago.
Sorry I CBA reading all that (no wish to steal the wind from poor goog's sails).
Try Trading Standards.
MM unfortunately I tried that card before and they said I had to pay £150 or something early termination fee as everything is covered in the T&C small print. But it's worth writing a letter and trying. Or drive to the shop they state you have to go to but don't move until it is sorted out there and then, ie completely new phone lower tariff etc.
Try some unusual way of contacting them, such as contacting the director of the company, or twittering / facebook contacting someone high up or linkedin, as in my experience these odd ways of contacting people get stuff done *very* quickly.
for example, O2 are @o2 on twitter.
On linked in, there are a bunch of orange people
