Howdo,
Mrs 'feet has a problem with one of the larger mobile phone providers. In June she took out a SIM only deal, and all was fine n' dandy. However over the last few months the reception has got worse and worse. She can now only use the 'phone on 2g. When she bought the SIM she was promised 4g/3g.
Spoken to the provider only to be told tough, nothing they can do....
So what can we do?
No idea what you come back is legally - if any?
But - if the 2G issue is at home, push enough and some providers will provide you with a little signal booster to plug into your router at home - colleagues got EE ones from work and they worked a treat!
Everywhere? Sure it's not the phone?
Loss of signal in most of our home town and at home. At work the signal goes back up to 4g, so don't think its the 'phone.
You'll find somewhere in the T&Cs wording about not guaranteeing service, the networks won't guarantee is because there are too many variables involved in providing mobile coverage.
It's worth complaining about if you're not getting what you reasonably expected, but I wouldn't go down the route of "you guaranteed me...."
Spent nine years working for O2, came up against this sort of question regularly. Outcome of your conversation largely depends on how reasonable you are and who answers your call.
Throw it in the bin and get another SIM from a different provider?
Is she on the same provider as your good self?
Has the phone been dropped from new? There could be internal damage to the aerial.
