I've posted before about this problem but it's now confusing me even more...
When I have Bluetooth enabled on my phone, Wifi performance is very, very slow.
However....it only seems to be when connected to Wifi on my main router (tp-link).
I have a Wifi range extender (also tp-link) but when my phone is connected to this performance is fine. Same channel, mode, etc.
Why would that be?
Does the range extender use a different band to the main router? Bluetooth and wireless g/n will both use 2.4Ghz and so may interfere with each other, wireless ac uses 5Ghz.
Both use the same band (2.4Ghz). I'm struggling to figure out why it's so damn slow when connected to the main router but fast when using the range extender.
If there is interference I'd expect the same issue on both.
Puzzled!
Could it be another Bluetooth device near to the router that your phone is trying to connect to? What Bluetooth devices can your phone see when you're near to the router and is this different to when your close to the repeater?
Same here, though I haven't narrowed it down to Bluetooth. Dog slow at home (while other phones aren't), yet fast on other networks and 4g.
Oneplus 5 with Orange Livebox cable router.
From what I remember of mobile phone hardware architecture, WiFi and Bluetooth are dealt with by the same chip/hardware. Perhaps due to R&D budget constraints these aren't implemented as robustly as they could be. I've defintely seen that with Bluetooth on mobile devices before. Some phones will pair instantly to a device while others struggle.Oneplus
The Bluetooth devices within range are identical. If there were issues with the hardware handling Wifi & Bluetooth I'd expect it to be the same when connected to the router or repeater but it isn't. Very odd!
The only thing I can think of is that the router is a few years old but the repeater is new. Perhaps the issue is the router itself with inefficient firmware maybe?
In my case I haven't actually tried turning off Bluetooth to see if that helps, hadn't occurred to me. I'll have a look when I get home.
OP have you tried using a different dns (somewhere in the network advanced settings)? It didn't make a difference for me but your problem would seem to be different.

I'll check this but the router handles all that - worth a go though!
The repeater can act as a DHCP server also but I have that turned off.
