You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've been getting the same fraudulent texts that others here have been getting. The usual advice is to contact your phone company, but mine is Three. The phone number goes around in circles, the live chat crashes before you reach the front of the queue and there seems to be no email option.
I'm not expecting good service, that would be too much, but is there a phone company that gives call-centre script monkey levels of service?
Three out - as above.
Vodafone out due to poor coverage, inaccurate billing and even worse customer service.
Giffgaff out due to fraudulent advertising
Any positive experiences?
I've never had a problem with O2, straight through in a couple of rings to a UK call centre, though I haven't had cause to call them in a few years. I think they outsource it to Capita these days.
You're wanting to call your provider about spammy SMSes? Are you stuck for something to do? With O2 at least I can just forward them to 7726 ("spam") to report them.
Three have always been fine for me. Certainly better than the others. I think I've tried everyone but Vodafone over the years.
Ask them to call you back about wanting to upgrade. 😉
"Are you stuck for something to do?"
These are spam premium rate SMS. I want them to stop charging me £4.50 a go.
Vodabone haha they actually charge to talk to a cs staff member
Yeah 3 has gone downhill recently with dodgy live chat feature that works just like posting a post here. Vanishes like ghost
I reckon o2 would get my vote more so than the rest
They’re all much of a shitty muchness though
Tesco Mobile - I've never had anything but outstanding customer service.
As far as calling them goes, they're up there with First Direct in my opinion.

What does that relate to? I don't use them myself (only have a work phone) but I thought they were the top provider in Which? surveys
"What does that relate to"
A couple of things; unlimited Internet access that is less than most other providers limited access and the whole "mobile network run by you" thing when actually it's a mobile network run by Ash Scofield and Telefonica.
02 best of a bad lot !

I'm sure you could find all sorts on any phone company.
FWIW, I've found PlusNet broadband and mobile have both given great customer service.
PlusNet sits on EE so very good coverage too, and excellent 4G coverage. My work phone is on EE and there is no difference at all between speeds & coverage/access that I can see.
Tescos on payg costs extreme amounts but might or do have quite good cs.
Iirc I pay 20p a txt on my sim in my emergency handset with Tesco
3 is 2p so there is a contrast although would agree that o2 would be the best of a bad lot
EE had good service and prompt response to any questions.
Id
Good service and much cheapness.
If you have sky TV then you can get some good deals on phones from sky.
I'm currently paying £9 for 10g of data, unlimited calls and text and £5.40 for the wife's SIM with 2g of data and unlimited calls and text.
Data rolls on for 3 years into a piggy bank and I can send some of my data to the wife's SIM card. If you can't use all the data you can cash it in against purchases from sky.
12 month rolling contract but you can change to another deal at any point.
You can also stream sky to your phone and it doesn't use any of your data.
Sky customer service has always been very good.
I've previously used 02 and giff gaff. Sky use the same network. Highly recommended.
Virgin mobile have been good thus far, cheap too.
the whole “mobile network run by you”
I found this really worked with Giffgaff. You could change all sorts of settings and contract things yourself that most providers need you to speak to customer services for. The help is forum based with users chipping in. You can find answers to any problems very quickly. To put it another way, their customer service is excellent because you never need to speak to them
Never really had any issues with O2, and I can’t remember having to contact them about anything since I’ve been with them and that’s got to be twenty-plus years. I had a message from them today, as it happens, apologising for some data issues, and hoping that it didn’t take the shine of my new phone, (which it didn’t because there wasn’t anyone home to sign for it today), and crediting £5 to my account!
I was with Orange before that, and they were forever spamming me with upgrade messages, and even after I left, because I ported my number, I was getting constant phone calls from Orange retailers trying to get me to upgrade, went on for nearly two sodding years! 😖
Virgins customer service has always been good for me.
Recently upgraded my sim only contact- £22 5000 minutes, unlimited text and 120gb data. Set my spending cap at £0 so I know I can't go over accidentally with dodgy/international numbers etc.
EE for me after a number of nasty Vodafone experiences. Vodafone, imagine BT like but not as efficient...
I use EE for mobile and home porn delivery and they've been first class. They also allow you to use your contract allowances overseas (mebbies they all do now?) which saves me a bit as I'm in France quite a bit. They don't seem to throttle the foreign service either.

Home porn delivery that doesn't throttle the foreign service? Sign me up.
I assume Sky will be good as the rest of their customer service has always been first rate for me.
Really wish they were not so good as would love to hate them!!
Anyone but EE.
Worst service from any company I've ever had.
OFCOM has done a report. It seems to be a complete work of fiction. Talking to a person within a minute at all providers (except Tesco), both phone and webchat! And O2 comes out the worst, contrary to the anecdotes here.
Can only echo countzeros post tbh.. Never had an issue with 02 in that long I can't honestly remember. Got to be 18 years now
