Mrs A has recently been appointed to a new job. She has been asked to provide proof of her MLTB (Summer) award that she successfully completed back in 1988 after enrolment in 1985. She has her green logbook including stamps and signatures that confirm her successful status. She trained with Christian Mountain centre in Tremadog and was assessed by Kent Mountain Centre in Llanberis. She has submitted pics of page 29a to show that 'The director of assessment was satisfied that the candidate fulfilled the requirements of the syllabus and demonstrated the technical competence to lead walking parties in the mountain areas of the United Kingdom in summer conditions'. The problem she has is that Mountain Training who I think are the successor to the MLTB are asking for the endorsements page from her logbook complete with stickers that give evidence of training and assessment. She does not have these; she has rubber stamps instead. We are a bit stuck.

Is there anyone who can give pertinent advice here please?

I have similar - a written log book with signatures, not stickers etc, dating back to 1995.

It may be that administrator in MT is going on process - without understanding a few dinosaurs like us exist without the stickers..

If she is working with a new organisation, I would speak to their Technical Advisor about this. There are two possible outcomes - Technical Advisor could know someone in current MT and be able to speak to them to help, that Technical Advisor agrees with new employer that the old certificate is enough proof (remember, qualifications are not legal or requirements, they are industry best practice and out of date the week after they were issued).

I am assuming she has a lot of experience, including proof of recent update/training/learning, and so Technical Advisor can also agree with new employer a more formal 'sign off'. I did this with foreign staff who had Kiwi, Slovenian or American qualifications. One the Technical Advisor wanted to asses and so we paid for two days on an ML assessment for them to just be informally signed off, the other two had phone conversation and email follow up about what tickets they had and what recent work and update training they had undertaken - and then a letter confirming that Technical Advisor thought they were appropriately experienced and up to date.

My 'pass' was delayed as it snowed heavily during our Summer assessment (in November) - our 2 night camping trip and night nav was in full winter conditions. However, they wouldn't run the security on steep ground day, so we had to come back in the Spring, for that to get signed off...

My ‘pass’ was delayed as it snowed heavily during our Summer assessment (in November) – our 2 night camping trip and night nav was in full winter conditions.

Similar here - week before Christmas in north Wales. The Assessors tent was flattened and ours was flooded on the first night of the two night exped. I hid the fact my down sleeping bag was soaked from the assessor...slept in every item of clothing and bags we could muster in the tent and thought 'i need to survive one night, and damned if I am failing this assessment now...'. And the last day was miserable horizontal rain and wind...not a day we really should have been on the hills.
The assessor told us all as we left the summit of Moel Siabod that we had all passed, while eating a bite of lunch in a KISU hidden behind a wall. Told us the assessment was over and to meet him in the (now closed I think) Hotel at Capel Curig for full debrief. One of the group popped out to go to the loo. Whilst there, and while the rest of us were unable to see anything, made use of the opportunity.
On arrival at the Hotel bar for debrief and pint, the Assessor discovered the two lumps of wall that had been hidden in the bottom of his backpack on the summit of Moel Siabod... 🤣🤣🤣

TBH I'm amazed that any organization cares that much about a qualification obtained 35 years ago.
