We're looking to buy a Crossover soon and after a fair bit of research the ASX seems to be top of the list.

It seems to tick quite a few boxes:

- Not bad economy (for a Xover)
- Japanese reliability/cheap parts (hopefully)
- Big boot
- High ride position (for the wife)
- Not mahooosive external dimensions (so the wife stands a chance of parking it)
- Not a Qashqai
- Reasonably priced (looking at 2-3 years old, <20k miles)
- Not bad looks (ok, maybe not as nice as the new Kias/Hyundis)

Anyone had/got one that can share any experiences with them?

I took a diesel one for a test drive a year or so ago. Quite nice but a bit clattery on acceleration. Bit of wind noise around the door mirrors at motorway speeds. You'lol need to take a test drive & make your own mind up. I personally would look at a '3' model at least as I insist on having cruise control, while front fog lights are a definite bonus.
'4' would be nicer still.
Diesel model had 9000 mile service interval if that makes any difference.

I ended up with a mkI Ford Kuga

The only owner I know is very happy with his. I'd be tempted to size up for an Outlander, seemed very popular on a recent thread, but I have kids and their junk to transport as well.

Outlander +1 - lots of room, drums for the carting around of. Should just get them in the Kuga but would like more space. No Outlanders available in my price range at present though
