You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Lord Paul, one of Britain’s richest men, claimed £38,000 in overnight expenses after registering as his main home a flat that he has since admitted he never slept in.
The one-bedroom flat is attached to a hotel he owned in Oxfordshire and was actually lived in by the hotel manager. Lord Paul has justified his naming of it as his main residence because it was available to him for his use.

will you two just get a room so you can fence with your c**** in private please?
that's how people get rich...
Stinks to high heaven. The whole second homes / flipping nonsense an appalling indictment of the whole lot of them.
didn't one Tory couple both Mps have two houses and one claimed one as a second home the other the other house?
Should have done what happened in Scotland when the same scandal arose. Only rental or hotels, whichever is cheaper, allowed up to a maximum and all expense claims published in full.
Stopped any impropriety and scandal overnight.
That do Flashy?
that's how people get rich...
Just what I was going to say. Can we put him in charge of the DTI?
On a more general note, can't we just build a big hall of residence somewhere cheap in south east London and the MPs they can all live there when in town?
We could even lay on a free bus to work for them.
Free Bus!?!?!?!?
Make the buggers walk to work - good example to the masses and allow them to exercise off some of those subsidised dinners.
chakaping - that's my idea! 😉
an appart hotel on the southbank (I reckon the old GLC building would do 😉 ) would be perfect!
change the expenses rules
media embargo
information available for those WGAF
draw a line under it
.
or fire-bomb the c***s
.
whichever is cheaper
[s]sadly[/s]thankfully the big [s]dis[/s]advantage of one large building housing MPs is that it is a soft target for an IED attack by insurgents
and the house of commons isnt?
pffft. a few concrete flower pots should keep the vermin at bay ... for just long enough... 😉
