Mugged and then possibly eaten bad mushrooms.

Hope he's found.

Well the whole story is truly horrible, from being robbed to in all likelihood dying an exceptionally unpleasant death.

There isn't really much to comment about, other than hope that against all the odds he is found safe and well.

It's a difficult one. What can you or I do to help things along? My sister lives locally so I informed her but again, what's to be done.
Hopefully everything will be ok.

Just heard about it on radio Scotland last night, his distraught brother out there looking for him

The French police thinking he was looking for magic mushrooms hasn't helped

His brother saying they both have some issues with their upbringing and fears for his mental health and its not uncommon for him to lose contact for a few weeks at a time but thinks he may have fallen I'll somewhere

Seems odd that he died at the end of November, but his brother had only just been told about it.

I remember this from before. Sounds like a massive and painful cockup by the French police: he'd fallen off a cliff and they'd recovered his body, but it was a month before they told his brother, during which time he was out there looking for him, and was in contact with the police. Sad 🙁

Can't really blame the French Police when he fell off a cliff in Italy and his body was recovered and lay in an Italian Mortuary. Very sad ending for the poor chap.

It was the Italian police that knew about the death though. They possibly didn’t even know there was a reason to call the French police (and I’ve not seen if he had a sort of ID). Theres definitely some info missing from that article

It is sad to learn of this unfortunate situation. It pains me to think of his life ending in such an unexpected way.
