If it takes more than a minute are you doing it wrong?

My mouth says my peppered minute steak is just right even though it was a few minutes!

Dunno why you're bothering with a minute steak, a massive one is obviously better 😛

Waiter: How did you find your minute steak sir?
Diner: I just moved a chip & it was there.

Ba dum tisch.

If the pan's hot enough I would think a minute each side is plenty.

Well, a normal ribeye I have pretty rare, but seem to cook a minute steak longer than expected.

It's from a local butcher and not wafer thin. I have a slice left, so I'll time it at a minute next time to see.

It’s just a name it doesn’t mean it literally takes a minute to cook.

I use a cast iron pan heated on the wok burner 'til it changes colour. If I was doing say a roe venison loin or a decent rump I'd only give it a minute each side, then rest it for a good five to ten minutes. A minute steak would be all the way through and more. So it depends on how hot you've got your pan.
