Hi all,

Looking for a mini tripod for a compact/micro 4/3 sized camera. Currently use one of these;

Which are about £2, so essentially looking for something similar but just a lot better quality!

Seen the Manfrotto Pixi ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Manfrotto-PIXI-Mini-Tripod-Black/dp/B00D76RNLS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450558303&sr=8-1&keywords=manfrotto+pixi+mini) which looks good, anything out there like that that has retractable legs?

Thanks,
Duane

Have a look at the jobi gorillapod

Not exactly what you are looking for but I find mine better than my fixed leg mini tripod. You can get different sizes to support different camera sizes.
It can be used like a regular tripod or the legs can be wrapped around stuff. The possibilities are endless

Thanks, yeah not a huge fan of Gorilla Pods, they have their uses but for what I want, I'm after a "normal" tripod 🙂

Depends what you are using it for but the Ultra Pod?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/PEDCO-P-UP1-BK-STD-Pedco-UltraPodTM-I/dp/B000ANGNN0/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1450559696&sr=8-2&keywords=ultrapod

I have the Ultrapod II (larger for my SLR) and its a fantastic bit of kit and very compact!

Another plus for the gorilla pod. Very useful.

I have both sized ultrapods and I like the smaller one better with my 4/3rd lumix G6 with a 14-140mm lens on (so reasonably hefty).

You can fold it to be line with the base of the camera when not in use, for when carrying.

I have the Manfrotto you link to. It's fantastic and sturdy. I mount my slr on it no problems so it'll be grand with a smaller camera. Very stable, good adjustability with the ball joint head.

I use one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0047ZEIOS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1450600747&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=slik+mini+tripod&dpPl=1&dpID=41244Abi4HL&ref=plSrch

I like it, and use it with my SLR so there's no problem with smaller cameras.

Not quite the same, but for 'every day carry' photography I've got one of these:

Basically a bean bag with a camera mount. Works really well.

Just check the site first, there's a few different ones designed for different loadouts.

It's no substitute for a proper tripod of course, but for something that can live in your camera bag or even just stuff into a pocket it's ace. I've caught a couple of really nice 'flowing water' shots using it to sit the camera on a handy nearby rock and trigger with a remote shutter.
