Wondered what would be recommended as a mini pc? Would love a mini Mac but for my needs a pc would be better.

Looking for something to backup iPhones, iPads, store my photos, would need to run iTunes, access my old pc external hdd which have music, photos and other media on. Other uses would be light internet use, would need to output to the tv via hdmi other than that just cheap and functional. Potentially use wireless keyboard and mouse. Would want it to live under the tv with the Xbox etc..

Any suggestions??

I use an Intel Nuc for Skype and PowerPoint duties with wireless keyboard so fairly similar.  Like it a lot

Mac mini should be right up your street

plex for all your media needs

you don’t need to pay extra for Apple kB/mouse , just get a Logitech K400 combined unit

the base model is underpowered so if cheap is the most important bit then look elsewhere

If you've got a PC / laptop elsewhere in the house, it sounds like what you really need is a NAS.

I have an Acer Revo One, and it's great for what you're after, but it looks like they aren't making them any longer.

No other pc or laptop, it died about 18 months ago, but collecting all my photo’s on memory cards when I really want to sort photoshop etc and phone needing upgrading etc...I’m stuck where to transfer all the data so thought a mini pc would be ideal. Wouldn’t use it too much hence why I don’t want to spend too much.

ooo, I forgot the Minix Neo.  I fancied one but have never actually used it

The NUC is more expensive but at least I've tried one and like it
