This weekend I was camping up in the wilds of Scotland.  I thought I was alone and in the middle of nowhere until I heard what sounded like motorbike engines in the distance, which I assumed to be farmers out on quad bikes.  Minutes later two adults appeared over the hill on what I can only describe as tiny off-road motorbikes - two wheelers.  They weren't going particularly fast but seemed to have no trouble dealing with what I would call quite challenging pathless terrain.  They were also very throaty (the engines not the riders) and did not sound to me like children's two strokes, and had what appeared to be huge travel suspension front and back.  Long and short of it is I want to try one!  Can someone more in the know tell me what these are and who sells them?  Searches tend only to reveal kids' bikes and they definitely did not look like kids' bikes to me....

Was it small adventure bike, like a Honda CRF250L? Lad at work has one and I imagine if someone over 6ft was riding one it may look "mini".

You get MX style pitbikes, normally 125cc or thereabouts.  https://www.atmotocross.com/collections/new-pit-bikes
