How old is the car and mileage? DIFFERENT brakes- mine are drum. I lifted the handbrake for 10-20m's at a slow speed and it 'cleared' this

WD40, sounds like the clips holding the pads have stuck.

That`ll be rear calipers, pads probably need changing.
Dont even attemt to change pads in them without a proper piston wind back tool, they are a nightmare and you will be there unsucessfully for hours.....I was one evening
And I went out and bought the proper tool the next day, job took 10 minutes a side then ;o)

You might get away (If there is enough friction material left on the pad)with popping the pads out and adding some coppaslip to the back of them, which changes the resonant frequency and damps the squeal

Surely there's a pad wear warning sensor on these minis, so unlikely to be pad wear IMO.

Just take pads out, clean and put some copaslip on rear of pad, as said above.

Some Brakes (not sure on MINIS) have audible pad wear indicators that squeek/squeal/scratch on the disc surface when the pads wear out - you should be able to check pad wear through the wheel spokes.
