Thinking of getting a mini digger, been thorough all the how versus but arguements but with sporadic time availablity and a ton of stuff to do owning one appeals more. I'm thinking of an e20z bobcat, but there's none available for ages. There's tons of choices elsewhere but the Bobcat seems to tick all the boxes I need:
Decent digging strength/depth/length for the size
<1m retracted track width
Zero tail swing
Enclosed cab
Any diggerists out there with good/bad bobcat experiences or something else I should be looking at?
The only other machine that I know of which is simular is the Kubota KX019-4.
Doosan (S.Korean) mini digger?
Bobcat and doosan are now the same manufacturer.
Fwiw dad rates his bobcat e10z says it's more capible than its size should allow.
Unlike the cat 301.6 machine we had to do my house with which was a big heavy machine with a tiny arm , weighed lots and had a tiny dig reach and lift capacity it also liked to get it's self bogged in the dugs alot.. ...... Worst of all it was slow.
Dada held his operator license for 30 years if that bobcat was slow it would be gone.
He's had all sorts of wheeled and slew machines over the years - he retired 2 years ago and has kept the Bobcat about because it's just a handy size and capible + he says he's too old to dig by hand these days
This week he was using it to move trees for a tree surgeon mate.
Bobcat and doosan are now the same manufacturer.
Good to know as a friend in the far east keeps banging on about how good it is to all our forum members ... LOL.
Can we come and have a go when you get one !
Thanks trail_rat. The e10z is another option. Get a small one that's good for 90% if the jobs and hire in a big one of needed. Makes it easier to store, tow and can work indoors, which would be useful. Hmm..
Yes from an inexperienced perspective doosan and bobcat are basically the same. Even have the same model numbers just one is orange and one white. The white ones are obviously cooler, and available on a 0% special right now.
