Seeing as this place is full of midge haters I thought I would ask for your insight.
Need a sew a screen for the van door to keep out flies, mozzies and most importantly midges seeing as we'll be in Scotland, Wales and Scandinavia.
Which netting is best?
Have seen some with 3000 holes/m², others with only 800.
Any recommendations on where to get this stuff?

I have the black version of this. Its good
Cheers tj
What's it feel like? Plasticy or silky?
like netting? neither really. Its more like material than a plastic net
That is the stuff eldest_oab has across both van doors. We applied velcro to mount and velcro down the middle for access.
@alpin When are you planning on heading up north? Not many midges up this way at the moment, but we do have a fair bit of snow.
No, no plans to be up there in these dark months. Likely to be up in Scandinavia in summer.
Sewing the screen now, but want a fabric that'll suffice not only in Italy/Spain, but also more northern latitudes...

Or you could use some magnetic tape. Easier in and out, less faff re-sticking.
Hadn't realised it's sold for this purpose. Why not. Makes sense.
Edit: big old messed up amazon link. just google magnetic tape!
I've used magnetic tape and this midge netting which is quite rigid (check video at the link) to make fly screens.
The stuff TJ linked to is cheaper, but I couldn't see what the holes per sq inch was for that.
