The metal cap and cage from a champagne bottle makes an excellent candle snuffer.

Clearly not upper class knowledge as Jeeves would be using the antique silver one / one crafted from the regimental spoons uncle Geoffrey brought back from the first war / Boer war / Waterloo.

Why don’t you just blow them out? At your age you’ve had enough practice.  Or just turn the lights on

This is so close to being a Viz Top Tip, but not close enough. 2/10.

Proper hipster candles come with a snuffer included.

I have a candle snuffer. Much better than blowing them out. You don't get wax splatters ( I know you can put your hand behind the candle and blow them out that way but its not as good) and also it reduces / eliminates the smoking from the extinguished wick

Its pretty basic stuff - using the correct tool for the job. 🙂

Lick thumb & index finger, pinch the wick- candle out and no smoke.

Do modern day hipsters drink Champagne? A semi-sparkling pet nat maybe?

Proper hipsters drink kombucha for the probiotic benefits. It's a very effective cure for constipation, if you want rapid weight loss, kombucha might be the miracle cure you're looking for.

I have a candle snuffer but he is on holiday this week so I might try the champagne top instead. Thanks for the tip
