Need a computer laptop thingy for work.
Technical drawings and I want to teach myself rendering.
Also want to be able to edit gopro video.
The Surface Book 2 keeps getting mentioned when I search for decent laptops.
I like the battery life and the detachable screen. I know the screen isn't the biggest, I've a big TV come monitor that I assume I can plug the laptop into.
Is there anything else out there I should be looking at?
I think all the Surface range look great but cost is high, when compared to a normal laptop of the same spec. That not to say their impressive or without their issues. There performance is average not outstanding, undocking the tablet can cause issue with apps that are open, & for me the non-serviceability or ability to upgrade is very off-putting
Doesn’t rendering rely a lot on GPU power? If so I’d look more at a decent gaming laptop for your needs. Only reason I’d go with a Surface is if lightweight/portability was a key requirement but you don’t mention that
