Using Edge and windows 10, can't attach files, paperclip button does nothing. Internet says disable pop up blocker but this does not help. Wife uses it for work and won't want to use chrome etc.

Any useful ideas that arent use something not edge?

For its flagship browser Edge is worse than IE (which will stil be on the PC somewhere).

You try:

Disable 3rd party add-ons.

Make sure PC is fully up to date.

Try IE

Download full Outlook if you have a license for it.

Outlook.com web app or corporate outlook Web app running from companies exchange server? If the later there are loads of versions. First step would be working out exactly what version your connecting too.

Edge is way better than IE in most cases. Though support for previous M$ bodges is not so good.

You could try hitting F11 to get the developer console open and then set edge to emulate an earlier version. It's not a long term fix but would indicate if the browser was the issue.

I gave up on Edge as it still isn't able to save its window position correctly but I've fired it up and tried Outlook.com; the paperclip icon does work for me (it should open a menu allowing you to browse local files or cloud locations).

There are 2 paperclip icons, one at the top and another at the bottom (with the text formatting controls) of a new email, do both fail?

When I open Outlook.com in Edge I've the option to use the standard mode or Outlook.com beta (there's a toggle switch above the preview window); it might be worth trying both modes in case one works. The only other thing I can think of would be interference from a 3rd part pop up blocker (do you have any third party security apps installed).

When I knock screws in with a hammer, they come undone and fall out.  Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve using a screwdriver?

Install Chrome, change its desktop icon to the Edge icon.  Job jobbed.
